Totaled but still alive! Frame 2.0, Fog lights anytime, Seatbelt reminder delete, Secondary air filter delete, LED bed lights, Running boards, 2017 Rims, Ultra gauge, Cup holder/consol/glove compartment lights, Interior LED conversion, Blue Sea aux. fuse panel, fuse panel mounting plate by Yotamac, ProEFX heated towing mirrors, LED engine bay lights, Redline Quicklift Elite hood struts, Wet Okole Heated Seat Covers,m, Rear bumper 2.0, Decal free visors, Washable cabin air filter, Overhead consol auto dimming override switch, BulletProof Fabricating Skid plate, 2lo module.
20%, that's a significant increase. Something else must be going on, you should be able to get better than than 12MPG (assuming 240 miles is empty) My thought is driving behavior.:notsure:

You should check how many gallons it takes to fill the tank up after you clock the 240 miles.
We have 18 gallon fuel tanks but you never run it completely empty, usually when the fuel gauge is near empty it takes 16 gallons to fill up.
At 16 gallons your mileage would be 15mpg which still seems low but it is an improvement.
I get about 17.5mpg mixed city/hwy in my 2001 Doublecab 4x4 automatic with about 300lbs of winch and bumper up front.
I do use 94 octane premium and have a cold air intake and free flowing exhaust so that may help.

ok well my driving habits are conservative. As for keeping track of how many gallons, when i fill up, it's usually btwn 60-70 litres. (15.85-18.49 gallons). Premium octane is too damn expensive up here. $1.30/litre something along thoses lines. ($4.92/gallon). So I put in 89 octane which is currently sitting at $0.97/litre.

    Ten mpg! Ouch
I just went for a 4 hour drive on the hwy @ 100km/h, lots of rolling hills and curves but I watched my Scangauge and tried to take it easy,
    I averaged 20mpg (11.5L/100km)
I was surprised I could get such decent mileage considering I have a 2.5" lift, 32" tires, heavy winch bumper, and automatic transmission.
Maybe you need a new O2 or Air Fuel sensor?
With a Scangauge or Wideband you could see if your truck is running rich.

My last tank had a lot of 70-90 km/h driving on it and I got 9.5l/100km

That's the best I have seen so far in 8000 km of owning this tacoma.

That's great mileage! Do you have standard or automatic?

I was averaging 18-19/mpg the first few tanks.
    I switched to Mobil-1

I did the rear diff with RP. That and the May 1 switchover to summer gas/RFG and I am now averaging 19.5 to 20.5/mpg.

I did a drain and fill with Valvoline synthetic ATF, I will do a flush/filter and switch to RP in the future.

Worst mileage was on a trip to Austin, CC at 75-85, about 16.5 MPG.

    L4, 2WD.

I looked it up. The 2001 Tacoma XtraCab 4x4, 3.4L V6 TRD Off-Road package comes with an 18.5 US Gallon tank (70 Litres). The 2.7L engine also has the 18.5 Gallon tank. The 2.4L engine has the smaller 15.8 Gallon tank (59.8 Litres).

Thats roughly what I get with my 2001 2.7 4x4. I have done about 570 kms before I filled up, could have got more but the gas stations are far apart around here. Pretty happy with it, and glad I got the 2.7, except when I am driving up hills, then I wish for the 3.4.
Truck is all stock,15 tires(I know, no fun) This is in the warmer months, I will hit the odometer and check again this winter.

Instead of counting gallons, I reset my ODO once the gas line comes on (When it is bright and clearly on, not just flashing/dim). Then I put in 10 gallons and check the ODO when the light comes back on. I was getting 180 miles to 10 gal (18 mpg) mix city highway and 21mpg highway for years, but 6 months ago it dropped to 13-14 :(. I did have a 50 gal diesel fuel auxiliary in there for while, and around the time I took that out I did upgrade to the 265/75 duratracs from Michelin M/S (P-rating) but I don't think those would have caused such a big drop. I have have been getting a reoccurring P0420 CEL during the same time the mileage dropped, and my truck smells like an ATV. Heavy emissions smell.

I want to do plugs and wires, pvc valve and figure out what needs do be done for the code. Either sensor, bat cat or what have you. I'm not sure
