I can't believe some of the horrible mileage numbers some guys are reporting here. I would be pissed. My GMC Sierra with a 5.3 got 15 to 16 MPG.

Been getting 21.5 on my tank. Anything above 77 mph and your mpg tanks.

Most of the good mileage numbers seem to be in warm weather.

    Nitro Gear: 4.88
Location: Las Vegas, where I drive 40 miles to and from work going from 2800ft down to 1800ft and back. On my way to work, I get about 19-20mpg. On my way home I get about 15-16mpg
    Overall MPG: ~18mpg
    Street: 15 mpg
    Highway: 16-20 mpg @ 65mph

PLAN TO ADD A KDMAX Tune after I break in the gear to see if I gain a little more efficiency. I think the main killer in my MPG is actually the camper aerodynamics. I may add a faring to the roof to see if I can get some improvements at some point. The numbers above are from me being light on throttle.

Literally 55 mph for 90% of that trip. Truck was also warmed up that morning from a prior trip beforehand, so I'm sure that played a factor.

    Oh look, another mod....

How do you like the Toyo's? I've been toying around with the idea of swapping out my tires early, and that is the exact tire I've zero'd in on. I like the look of it. Is it loud, quiet, so-so? Do you get a firmer ride or softer ride (compared to stock)? How do they handle in wet/rain conditions and loose gravel.

I don't do any hard wheeling, so I think this tire may be a perfect fit for my needs...which is mostly 90% highway driving.

I've had them for almost a year now and I love them. The second I pulled out onto the road I could fell that they are firmer than the stocks. They handle very well in the snow and on wet roads, haven't had them on gravel. At first they were quiet, but they have a slight hum now. On the highway it's not bad at all, it's just at lower speeds you can hear it. I had the BFG KO's on my 96' and they were louder than the AT3's.

Mine was 95% highway going 65-70mph cutting across Houston on I-10.

Here’s my current record. A tankful of 89 octane. 90 degrees outside. Brand new low mileage 2022, 2WD Tacoma Sport with Firestone Destinations.
I’m carrying my 250 lb mother in law with her 80 lb suitcase. That probably had an effect.

Took delivery on my new (2022) SR v6 on Jun 27. drove it to TX from NW FL. Best MPG was 27.5 worst was 24.3. and that was from Biloxi MS to Chipley FL (north of Panama City) don't want to admit to the top speed on I10. but probable average around 65mph due to traffic through Mobile. Been averaging 26 t0 27 locally ever sense. 3500miles on it so far. Just depends on your driving habits

Same 114 mile trip with similar load at nearly identical 75 mph highway speed:
    - Disappointing 17.8 mpg running cruise control that loves to constantly downshift
    - much improved 21.7 mpg without cruise control

    DCLB Off-road 4WD
The fuel computer registered 0.1 miles too high mpg on both trips vs. the gas pump calculated mileage.

Both my son’s and my Tacoma fuel economy are literally devastated by using cruise control. If you are unhappy with your Tacoma fuel mileage try to drive it without using cruise.

I'm guessing Cruise Control only negatively impacts vehicles with automatic transmissions, and even then, only when on hilly terrain.
