Hello, new to the forum. I’m have a 2001 4 cyl 2.4L RWD Tacoma. I’m having a mechanic replace my whole fuel pump assembly. However, there is an issue. I brought him the part and he said it wouldn’t work. The assembly I bought doesn’t look like the one he pulled out of the tank. I’ll attach pictures of the two. The assembly I bought looks just like every other assembly that says will fit my truck. The only assemblies I see that look like the one out of my truck have been pulled. Does anyone know why? And what is that yellow and white tab in the middle of the housing?

That yellow-and-white tab looks like something to lock something else in place to prevent the something else from coming loose. (To me, anyways.)

I had to replace the entire housing because it was so rusted out. I had to find a fuel pump housing from a junkyard. However, the gas gauge is no longer working. So I have to figure that out.
