Wow, just hate posts like this. They usually are a very good product overall. Really sucks you got caught up in this as a first time Toyota owner. Good luck and hang in there. Hopefully it is all resolved to your satisfaction without much greif.

Thanks, they said I should hear something back on Tuesday after they've investigated more into the issue. Keeping my fingers crossed and will update once I hear some news.

Sorry you’re dealing with the jackassery by both dealers. Keep firm pressure… they need to fix it on their dime.

I had to sue Johnson Honda in Florida for them being ridiculous on damaging my car and they caved. Dealers play games until they realize they can’t win their games.

Hi everyone, I picked my truck up today after 2 weeks and wanted to give everyone an update. Toyota corporate did their investigation and told me that they couldn't prove that the fuel pump falling off was really due to the engine-out timing cover work from the prior Toyota dealer even though that's what the Toyota dealer that completed the current repair told me. They also thought that the selling dealer (non-Toyota) could have messed with it somehow (seems silly to me). But they did offer me good will cash towards the repair and the dealer hooked me up with labor at the warranty rate, so $1100 out of the $1300 bill was covered. Seems like they had to remove the valve cover to replace the flange that the fuel pump sits on since it coming loose boogered it up. At this point I'm just worried that other shit is going to start falling off in the engine bay since Toyota pretty much told me any future issue related to the engine-out procedure was void since labor on warranty repairs is only good for 12 months, but it's good to have the truck back and she's running smoothly.
