@Speed Freek You have done a couple of these Right?
I believe you just need to empty the tank as much as possible and no smoking. Lol. I know great advice captain obvious, but who knows, you could be a Florida native for all I know. Good luck.

I figured it was your first time the gentleman i tagged is a toyota master mechanic. It also helps to have a extra set of hands if you got a friend that can help you drop the tank down. Other than that its pretty straight forward also disconnect negative vable on the battery.

Double cab, easier to change when drop/tilting the tank.

Xcab/reg cab, loosen bolt to bed, tilt and raised bed and you'll be fine

Hydraulic table will be your best friend of you're handling it yourself, if you decide to drop the tank

No need to drain tank. Make sure you're working in a well ventilated area. NO GUARANTEE IF YOU SMOKE, YOU'LL BE A STATISTIC.

Your in AZ you should be fine .

You should be able to break all the lines loose although spraying them can`t hurt .

I'm doing this as well. Was going to lift the bed up. Went to loosen the bed bolts and now they just spin. Whatever nut inside the crossmember must have broke. Looks like I'll be removing the tank.

In PA there could also be rust problems with the small screws fastening the pump/sender assembly to the tank. Sometimes the rubber gasket can get deformed if any rust has crept under it and a new filter should go on the pump pick up.The replacement Denso brand pump filters are much finer than the factory installed "strainer".
I like dropping the tank anyway, it's no big deal and that way it's easy to touch up rust spots on the tank and inspect the insides good for rust and dirt.
Don't forget about static electricity, keep that tank grounded.

there should be a evap box on the front portion of the tank... these hoses and electric valve can be an evap code "issue". If they look fine and are still soft and rubbery you should be good. If they are hard and look like cracking you could attemp to replace them. The last thing I would want to happen is you get her back together and it pops an evap code and you have to do it all over again or you start to mess with them and something goes wrong.
