Good to know, so the CEL is still off after the MAF sensor cleaning?

Unfortunately no . Replaced MAF with a new one, replaced fuel pump with a new one. Same symptoms. Truck fires, cranks and immediately dies. CEL still on. Skilled mechanic with quality scanner coming Friday evening to help troubleshoot.

Interesting you replaced rather than cleaned the MAF sensor. How did the old one look?

Did you also clean the Throttle Body???

I did replace it. Didn’t look bad. Simple fact it’s nearly 20 years old. It was not very expensive so I said, “why not”. We did pull the throttle body and clean it up while we were at it.

did you replace the MAF with a Denso branded one? I've heard bad things about the other aftermarket brands like ACdelco, Bosch and the like

Not to sound like one of those "OEM or nothing" guys but when it comes to the sensors, it's best to stick with the OEM ones

So, the saga continue . Put a better scanner on the truck over the weekend. Throwing codes P0351-P0356 and it's throwing them 3x each for a total of 18 codes. Nothing else. I find it hard to believe all coils went out at the exact same time. I done a little digging and found several causes for this code and began working through the list. Truck will only run for 2 seconds at a time. Performed a spark test on one of the coils and I'm getting good fire. Cleaned the throttle body of all carbon deposits, looked and listened for vacuum leaks(no luck there, so far). I'm at a loss. Is there another sensor, camshaft or crank or anything, that could be causing me issues like this? This is the list of probable causes I found for this issue that I mentioned working through.

Also, am I right that this model does not have an Idle Air Control Valve? All the info I found on this was for an 04. What exactly is this "Electronic Body" mentioned here? Saw the same wording a few times but nothing comes up on a Google search.

    Hey @BlackBeard556 ,

You might want to search TW for the codes you’re seeing. You might find something to look into rather than waiting on a response.

You might want to change the thread title to something more specific to your current situation (top right of page under Thread Tools I think).

I did do a quick search for P0351 & P0356 and the coils were a common theme. Not that all were bad, just that some weren’t seated fully. I didn’t check for the codes in between...

Good luck! Thanks for keeping us up to date!!

Hows your radiator fluid level? I have a 2005 Sport and chased P0305 for a while. It turned out to be the head gasket. Ir runs like a champ now

when my head gasket went bad I was losing coolant real slow. I thought maybe it was bouncing out while off roading but it was weeping real slow into the cylinders. Top it off and keep an eye on the level. Check for leaks. That fluid has to be going somewhere

Just wanted to thank you all for the comments and help. I finally found the problem and got it resolved. Turns out one of the coils was shorted on the ground side and it was killing the computer after running a couple seconds. For some reason the coils share a ground so I was seeing voltage on the "hot" side but I never checked the ground side. Took it to a local shop that scanned it for me and we found the bad coil pretty quick. Spent a total of 900$ on parts and tools to troubleshoot and test with. Ended up being a $50 coil. Either way, it's running great and no issues. Thanks again.
