Toyota won't lemon law you and doesn't have a fix or ETA yet.

So hurry up and wait I guess.

I did have the tsb for the shifting issues applied to my truck. I’ll try to find the number in my records, but that was done prior to the I assume pump acting up.

I checked mine at toyota.com/recall. I guess if it's a fuel pump your vin number will tell you.

Check if you are subject to the recall (probably are), but the dead giveaway is a check engine light with a fuel pressure low code. That's what I got.

I took 4runner in for service this am. I asked the service adviser about the recall for the 4r and taco.
He claims it’s a software update that’s coming out to fix fuel pump issue.

I flashed him a stink-eye but he held his ground. Who knows...

I wouldn't be too weird. Once my vehicle stalled and went into limp mode, it ran fine a couple blocks down the street to the dealer. It's not out of the realm of possibility the issue is coding-related. Would explain why it was so hard to nail down.

Had codes 7 months ago.. Fuel pressure low. First code read HPFP fuel rail, replaced and problem remained. Second, LPFP and fixed...There were a few of us that needed LPFP 6 months ago, the shortage existed even then, good luck guys!

Apparently it was fixed by mid 2019 so if it was a code problem why hasn't Toyota updated earlier Tacos with the new code?

I just received interim recall notice in the mail (2018 DCSB). Low pressure fuel pump recall. It says a remedy is in the works and a second notice will be sent.

I don't really have any issues except 2 minor ones: first, when I start the truck after it's been off for a while, there is a brief period where it doesn't respond to the gas pedal being pressed. I thought maybe it had to warm up a little. The second issue is an occasional clunk noise when I brake hard at 30-40 mph, say at a light. The first issue may be related to the recall.

Local dealership replaced both fuel pumps, but apparently they weren’t the problem, because now they can’t get it to start. They can’t figure out what’s wrong with it so they’re going to contact corporate for ideas.

I hope it didn’t contract the Corolla virus!

That Corolla virus wasn't supposed to be transmittable between vehicle models... I knew that they shouldn't have started sharing engines and platforms.

Hey everyone. My truck is on the recall list as well. I checked yesterday and saw this updated section on the FAQ page. I didn't see it posted here so here you go... looks like no fix until September...

I didn't see a lot of talk on here about everyone's opinions of just how dangerous or likely this failure is. My wife and I have a trip planned in Mid may (cabin and some light wheeling and hiking). I still plan to take the truck for now. Her 2wd explorer would be less than ideal lol.

Just got my official notice in the mail as well. I think it's funny how they say "toyota is investigating the remedy and will contact us again once a remedy is available." - just tell us they're waiting on the replacement pump and be done with it... remedy ha! o_O
