I'm scheduled on the 11th for my fuel pump.

Honestly, not that it matters but food for thought...

The Service Advisor told me to have 1/4 tank or less to make it easier on the folks.

BUT they also said to have everything out of the rear seats? WTF? why would they need everything removed from the rear seats of the DCSB?

Either way I will honor the request.

My truck has NOT experienced any issues whatsoever so preventative maintenance is good "I think" .... LOL

From my initial call to the dealer, they called back within a few days and that was awesome considering on the initial call they thought it would take 2-3 weeks. From my standpoint, it looks as if the pumps are coming in regularly...at least in Colorado.

No idea what the back seat thing is. Mine didn't say anything about that, and I had a few things in my backseat that appeared to be exactly as I had left them.

Yeah they asked me to remove everything from the back seat....why I have no idea. I challenged the SA and was told nothing in the back seat. I think she meant the bed but if I understand the recall.....they should just drop the tank. Either way, I will take EVERYTHING out of the truck and see how it goes.

When I scheduled mine, they didn't say anything even about the tank. When I showed up, I told him I had less than 1/4 tank (because I knew what was involved with fuel pumps) and the SA was very grateful and said that they have a rig to help them pull the tank, but that it is always easier when they don't have much in them. I cannot even begin to imagine what would be going on with the backseat but yeah I think it may be as you said somebody who just was confused.

I think it was a confusion thing.

I have no earthly idea why the back seat area needs to be "cleared" but will do it just the same. I'm going to drive it til on fumes when it gets to the dealer just to be safe.

Some of the other threads showed some pics of having the bed removed...Good luck with that on my truck. Ill be certain to ask...because if the remove the bed they will have a NIGHTMARE of wiring for HAM radio and other misc wiring I have done...not to mention the Diamondback with mods.

Time will tell but I think there will be no issues. I believe they will jack the truck up....drop the tank (removing all the armor) and then replace the pump. Then test drive and away it goes.

In one of the Colorado regional forums, someone went in for the recall and was turned away because they needed to remove their bed rack and RTT, bed stiffiners and also have less fuel in the tank. I took mine in yesterday with a 1/4 tank and the bedrack and RTT still on tehe bed and got no pushback. They also didn't mention anything about the back seats.

I didn't notice any difference in performance on the 10 mile drive home.

I *almost* called to ask and figured it was better to ask forgiveness than permission. Was happily surprised that they just took the truck and ran with it.

The SAs at my dealership always come out and talk to me about my truck. They ask about all the mods and everything. When I pulled in there were a couple of techs that came up were looking at the ditch lights and antennae.

Sounds like you have a good crew at the dealership. When I was running an FJ before here in Denver, the FJ forum had an unofficial list of which dealers and alignment shops to go to. lol

Picked mine up from the dealership after getting the new fuel pump installed. Went to get gas and just as the tank was almost full, gas started pouring out from the top of the tank. Not out of the filler neck but underneath the truck over the top of the gas tank. Never had this issue before...anyone know what could be messed up?

Yes... that's stating the obvious. I mean is there an O-ring missing or something not torqued properly. Or could be something damaged?

If I were you I would not be asking questions on this forum right after having this done at the dealer. I would be at the dealer making them fix it asap . Asking what could be wrong is like asking what the lottery number will be. No one knows. Only a bunch of guesses. Take it back and make them fix it.

THAT pisses me off....we trust that these mechanics will be diligent in following the procedure outlined of said R&R part.

I would make a complaint to the management (NOT THE SERVICE WRITER) so that this idiot gets reprimanded on this come back....

Posted this before but the dealer where I got my 2019 (that was not on the list yet) had a bunch of Tacoma's that they could not sell because they had made the list.

Well crap. My check engine light is now on AND I have items missing from my truck. Well, more specifically, most of high lumen LED flashlist is missing. Everything but the bezel, lens and O ring. WTF? I mean, who does that?

I just left a nice message for the service manager at my dealership.
