    I finally got around to calling my Toyota dealer service department and told them I had bought a 2019 Taco used and needed to see if I was in line to get the recall done. He pulled up my VIN and said that I was indeed in the queue and that he could order the part right away and it would be here on Friday. I have an appointment to get it installed on Monday. They are also going to address that 2019 transmission "shift hunting" issue and apply the TSB.

    Had mine done this past weekend. I dropped it off at 7AM and picked it up at 5pm. Haven't noticed a difference in performance, but wasn't having any issues before going in.

    Replaced today, they had it done in less than 1.5 hours. They requested that the tank be 1/4 or less. Expected them to pull a wheel but they didn't.

    Now might be a good time to make the appointment. I contacted them and they were able to get me in the following morning, with a bunch of other open time slots

    Had my two recalls done yesterday. Fuel pump replaced and the front radar system fixed with their "patch"
    I also noticed no difference in driving with the new fuel pump.

    Called what I thought was the most reputable Toyota dealer in the South Jersey about the recall. The service writer started taking down all my info, half way through I had to stop her and ask if they had the part in stock, she said no. She also informed me that once she set up my service appointment, the recall and corresponding parts would be linked to their dealership, and I wouldn't be able to get it done at another Toyota dealership. So, I told her I would call around 1st to see who had the part before scheduling with their dealership. The next dealer I called had the part and was able to get me in 1st thing tomorrow morning with a loaner. Hope it goes smooth. BTW I found out about the recall from this forum, so I just call the dealers in my area, gave them the VIN, and asked about any recalls. :fingerscrossed:

    Update: dropped off at 8 AM picked up at 1230 PM went smoothly, doesn't feel any different than before the recall ‍♂️

    Update Truck still there not sure how it happened but tech broke top of sending unit. Had to order part. Had to work on my anger management skills LOL!! Went back inspected my truck. Just pisses me off.

    I had it done already last week (didn’t have issues prior) but would like to know what was done/touched

    Few questions on the fuel pump recall - I should have asked the service advisor this morning but did not. My error.

    Does one have to have the replacement done at the dealership where you actually purchased the truck from, or can you have another dealership perform this? Any flack from them if it is another dealership?

    Last week, I made an online appointment to have the pump replaced this morning (I had received a second letter from Toyota advising me to contact my selling dealer to make an appointment) along with TSB 0092-20. This was at a sister dealership much closer to me than from the one where purchased. I arrived just before 8AM as requested and was directed to the service advisor assigned to my online request. First thing he says is that they can’t do the fuel pump recall because they don’t have the parts yet and that I need to wait for a third final notice letter to arrive first.

    Being rather annoyed after having to get up at the crack of dawn and then driving 45 minutes, I just left and went home. In hindsight, I probably should have requested to speak to the service manager or at least asked more questions of the service advisor, but I was not in the mood at the time.

    Personally, I wondered why I was not informed of the lack of parts prior to responding since the online appointment request sent a week prior specifically listed the fuel pump replacement.


    If and when I do get this “third” letter from Toyota, can I assume that it is referring to my original selling dealer having finally received the parts, and I must go to them, or was I being fed a load of BS like I suspect now?

    Home now and dealing with a sick cat..........:(

    I went to the local library to pick up a DVD for the lovely bride. Uphill drive home, came to a stop sign, truck stumbled, lost power. She cut out on me! Wow that sucked, stuck in the wrong. I let it sit for a few seconds, all power off - thank God it started after then rest, then vigorous cranking. If this happened on the highway, yikes!!

    CEL on, but went out on way home. Seems to be running fine for now,

    Appointment Monday 7:30AM. I Did not check for codes

    Dealer says not my turn yet but will see if they can do it. Maybe no parts.

    Quick Question: Did you guys have to wait for a letter before your dealer was able to replace the fuel pump? On MyToyota website, It says a remedy is not available yet and to wait. Once remedy is available, i will get a letter.

    Yes when you receive letter call dealer. Then they will order part. Crazy but that how they did here :anonymous:

    It still needs to be "your turn". It's not my turn yet (Built May 2019) If your truck takes a shit on the road as mine did less than 30 minutes ago they will obviously give priority IF they have a fuel pump.

    What does this “official” look like or state specifically? I received one with a “RECALL LOCATOR CODE” on it and was told that was not the one and to wait for another one. However, this one did state to call my original selling dealer to make an appointment, so I am getting mixed info here. Both my selling dealer and the one I went to are the same, just at two different locations.

    Called a third dealer for more info and was told when I received the “official” letter, to call them, and then they would order the parts.

    I received 2 letters. I waited about a month and then called the dealer where I bought the truck from.
    They had the parts in stock. Busy dealership in Oakland, Ca.
    My nephew has a 2019 and lives about 30 miles from me and he is still waiting for his truck to be called up.

    Here's a copy of the letter I got last October to let me know of the available fuel pump fix.
    Notice in the red bar it states 'Remedy Notice'.

    I haven't taken it in yet, but probably will in the next couple of weeks, hopefully.
