So I took the truck in this AM to Toyota of Kirkland. They don't even have a pump, so they claim they just want to diagnose the problem.

They called me today midday and were first blaming adding air lockers, then they started blaming the wiring for the air compressor, and finally they blamed the wiring and the system for the 2WD Lo mode. I was having none of that and the guy had insufficient knowledge to refute me. I could easily tell him that none of those systems even interfaced or acted in a mode that cuts fuel in such a manner.

They are still investigating. I should have just not left the truck, but damn I have no confidence it won't cut out again.

    Got my truck back.

The service advisor actually apologized to me and said none of those things would have caused the truck to cut out and they will let me know when it's my turn for a pump. If it cuts out again, have it towed in.

People claiming they have had new fuel pumps put in their 2019's, yet 2018 people being told by Toyota no pumps available........none for my 2019

I really don't know. But Toyota if they have any brains at all (TBD) would not put the pumps that are eaten by fuel in NEW trucks, so the stream of new trucks should be getting GOOD pumps and us suckers wait to die on the freeway.

I am sorry for my bitter tone, but my truck died from fuel starvation yet no new pump for me. No one here even seemed to comment on that aspect.

My 2019 fuel pump recall was done on February 26. I never had a problem with it.

Almost seems like a dealer by dealer or regional thing

I spoke with Toyota Brand Engagement Center just now. Anastasia.

She had a bit of information. My truck is due for a fuel pump replacement March 29. Will get a letter and if letter not here by April 2, call back. She said the only current remedy for me, if I have no confidence in my truck is a loaner via Toyota corporate. She said she could start that process if I want, but I hesitated a bit and said - IF my truck dies out a second time, then absolutely.

She said yes, some earlier build 2019's got pumps and then the supply went dry. She really didn't know if new trucks get correct pumps. But generally is a VIN order, not regional.

Nope. I called my dealer when someone on the forum posted they got a letter thst the pumps were in and to make an appointment. I told my dealer I got a letter. Which I did not. Only got the first letter many months before telling me there was a recall and to wait for second letter. Dealer ordered pump. Called me next day and said it's in. Dropped it the following day. Had it back in about 4 hours.
