I have a 2017 off-road short bed, with 33s on it. My buddy has 2018 off-road long bed with stock tires on it. I’ve always complained about the transmission/gearing issues and he’s always though I was crazy. Said he loves how his truck drives and never experienced it before. We chalked it up to driving styles and tire sizes.
Then...he got his fuel pump changed at his last service due to a recall and now he says he’s experiencing everything I’ve always complained about.
Anyone else have issues after their fuel pump was replaced? Could a new fuel pump cause gear searching and down shift lunging?

more likely it was just the short term reset of the learning phase.

Most techs disconnect the battery and this may have caused enough of a hicup for him to notice. There is an update for the 18 that most go for when this complaint arrises.

    This.

I went through it after the rear diff gasket recall (it sat for a month and they disconnected the battery), and again when the factory battery died. It took a month to remember who I was.

Thanks. I didn’t know you had to start all over again if the battery died or was unplugged.

Yep. Pain in the ass. One day you’re holding 6th up a hill, and the next it can’t seem to find its way out of 5th.
