    Good evening all,

I received the notification from Toyota that the recall fuel pump replacements were available. This was a few weeks ago, about two weeks before a planned road trip. I wanted to take the Tacoma on the trip over my wife's Forester, so I called the local Toyota dealer on Friday morning before the July 4th holiday weekend.

Long story short, by midday Tuesday, July 6th, the Toyota dealer closest to me never returned my call, so I got an appointment at the dealer where I bought the truck, about an hour and a half from me. They replaced the fuel pump and did the inspection for free since I bought it there. Inspection wasn't up until next month, but they came out to ask me if I wanted them to do it, and I figured I might as well since I was already there.

While I had to burn a vacation day and drive an hour and a half(ish) each way, I got the fuel pump replaced and then took the Tacoma and family down to Delaware near the beaches, then drove back up and around and down again to the NJ beaches and then a stop back in Philly before coming back up to Central PA.

We were going to take the ferry from Lewes, DE to Cape May, NJ, but they are still requiring reservations due to covid and they were all booked for the day I was going from DE to NJ.

Longest road trip with the Tacoma to date but no complaints!

    Have a good one!
