No way they'll warranty something like this. Pulling the plugs is not that difficult. Just make sure to thread them back in by hand and torque them to just under 20 ft lbs.

You shouldnt hurt anything pulling spark plugs and manually cranking the motor worst thing that happens is nothing happens and you put the spark plugs back in. GL OP.

What he said is the correct process. If there is oil (or any fluid) in the cylinders, it may as well be concrete. If you force the crank with a breaker bar and a socket without pulling the plugs, there is nowhere for the fluid to go and bad things happen to connecting rods.

I meant if I do turn the motor over with the starter and make things worse there's definitely not gonna be much they can do for me. Thanks.

Pull plugs and manually turn the motor with a breaker bar then Or you're saying it's already locked up and I should just light a match...

sorry about the disconnecting the battery confusion. I just ment disconnect the battery while you pull the plugs so it will reset the computer. yeah you have to hook the battery back up to turn the motor over

get a couple of buddies to come by and prepare for some fun! Pull the plugs, chock the rear wheels, ebrake on, trans in neutral. Throw a socket with Breaker bar on it, and slowly start turning. You will meet some resistance, thats normal but if there is oil in the cylinders it will come right on out.

Once the plugs are all out....yes, use the starter to bump the engine. Obviously you'll need to have the battery hooked up to do this

It could go either way. If you immediately got the infamous hydrolock "click" when trying to turn it over, that means fluid is in the cylinder and the starter is not strong enough to push passed it. Which could mean you are fine, or it could mean it already bent a rod.

The starter and paper towel trick is to quickly eject the oil via the spark plug holes. If the starter won't turn over the engine even with the plugs removed, chances are at least one is bent already. Breaker bar and socket might free it up.

One other thing to consider, and I actually had this happen... something got kicked up and lodged between the serpentine belt and a pulley. I had a bolt that came loose, fell off the engine and got lodged between the belt and the crank pulley, locked it up tighter than a drum.

    Asking for a friend:
Let’s say I flipped truck with a Diesel engine flipped. The engine will not turn by hand or by starter. How would one go about getting the oil out of the pistons?
