Tomwilson, yes supercharged. My city is different then most others it is a small town of only 15000 and the speed limit does not go over 40. I putt putt around accelerating slowly. I have also learned when to coast from hypermiling my honda civic. I do get a lot of people pissed off at me accelerating slowly.

The Scangauge Throttle Position is awesome for this. I did add the AFE cold air which helped slightly. As long as you keep the truck out of boost it gets nice MPG. I have a buddy with a Tacoma that gets less then I do. Is it driver? or power to weight ratio? Don't know. I have learned that the driver is the biggest decrease in MPG I also I live at 7500 ft. does that have anything to do with it and the supercharger, don't know.

I use Lucas , a good dose following the directions about every 3rd tank . It sure has helped with idle quality , cold starts and fuel mileage . Recently , I tried a local 91 octane no-alky fuel and that really helped too , about 2.4mpg better .

You do realize that if you add ANY chemical through the booster vac line that only cylinder #3 gets anything? The booster vac port is in the runner for cylinder #3 only.

On the specific thread topic I use STP fuel injector cleaner once a month. It does a good job of keeping the valve stem and back of the face clean, and keeps the carbon down. I had to disassemble my engine at 185k miles (I purchased it at 150k) and the valves were still very clean, and the head surface and piston surface were clear and clean of any carbon.

Gumout complete fuel system cleaner every oil change. 200k+ miles and the fuel injectors and gas tank were sparkling and never had any issues, runs great.... seems to do the job.

The last time I changed the plugs on my 90 Chevy, a few plugs had a lot of carbon build up. I saved one of the plugs and put it in a can with some sea foam in it. A WEEK later the plug looked the same. I should have took pictures and did a write up about it but now I have no use for the stuff.:(

This is my first time to run a fuel additive from the start for a new vehicle. I am hoping for a long term benefit. I have seen results in my Jeeps and Honda Civics. I have always bought vehicles used. I would do a average MPG then added Lucas fuel additive. My MPG's improved in all the vehicles. 1995 Honda Civic, 1998 Honda Civic, 2001 Jeep Cherokee, and 1989 Jeep Wrangler. The jeeps did not seem to improve much, but the civics saw more of an improvement.

What I saw in my own tests are that some cars benefit and others not so much. It comes down to how the cars were treated and the design of the vehicle. Will it help everyone depends, do your own test and find what works for you.

I use techron every 3 oil changes, don't notice a difference, except that I feel better knowing I do it at least.

Really, did you pull the head to check? You can't see any thing by looking under the valve cover.

Techron is all you need. Especially when BMW engines show the proof on clean valve issues.

You get what you pay for in fuel. Big corp. want profit. So what is not put into the fuel to lower cost..............That is with anything you purchase in life as a general rule.

There is a big issue with engines with direct injection valves not seating due to buildup. That is what is important in cleaning internal combustion and intake systems and injector tips.

I did say booster... Sorry I meant PCV valve line. I was gonna do it through the booster but after reading here on TW I realized exactly what you stated. I'm not sure why I said booster. Hopefully doing it through the PCV valve line was the correct way, or one of the correct ways. I did the seafoam for the 2nd time about a month ago. Prob won't do it again until November or so. If there is a better way to hit all cylinders let me know. Thanks!

Lost me on that one if it is direct injected the fuel never passes the intake valve it is not injected into the manifold so the valve never see gasoline just air. This was a problem 20 years ago most often with 4 valve cylinder heads but the fuel co's stepped up to the plate and changed their fuel mix to address the problem.

There is a large vacuum port directly behind the throttle body, on the upper intake manifold. This is the BEST place to draw in seafoam or other "direct" cleaners. The reason is that from this point, which is almost directly behind the throttle plates, the cleaner is able to travel into each intake runner, and to travel from the beginning of the runners to the end.

I didn't know what about the booster line feeding #3 only. I've exclusively used that, then after a while my truck was throwing driver side Emissions codes, replaced the manifold/cat and all is good.

I will find and use this vacuum line you suggest.
