Fuel tank siphoning

    I think the tanks beyond reusing - that’s the reason for removing it and not just replacing the strap afaik.

    The tank is replaced from the bottom, if the tank and straps have corrosion issues assume the bed bolts will also, try using a motorcycle or ATV jack to lower tank they have a wide foot print and may help with balance on full tank of fuel. Yes have helped several family members change fuel pumps on GM pick ups by removing bed, its the way to go when you have 4 or 5 guys hanging out sippin on long necks, different story when working with limited help. I just changed a fuel pump on my Tacoma (check valve failed) but was able to drive it till tank was about empty (3gl left) went pretty smooth from the bottom by myself, original pump, 20 yrs old, 230,000 miles, didn't owe me anything.
