So I'm at work and this guy walks into our lobby, "lookin for the person that owns the Tacoma"..... "That's me" I say. He said I just hit your truck with my plow.. WTF!!!! This guy want to pay for it out of his own pocket. I'm going to take my truck to the dealer and see what kind of damage has been done. Looks like just the rear bumper but my truck got shoved a bout 18".
Here's the pics. Yeah I know "It'll buff out"

I hope you filed a police report regardless of how he chooses to pay for the repairs

OK, yeah, he messed up your day. But he was man enough to immediately come in and take responsibility, pay for damages. Lot of folks now a days would have just bailed.

very cool that he's stepping up to the plate!

looks very minimal, and should be just a bumper

That sucks but at least he admitted it. The truck I just bought has a pretty good ding in the back of the bumper. IIRC when I looked the chrome section was somewhere around $400.

+1 for him stepping up and admitting. He could've just bolted like 99% of the other aholes out there. Those guys work long shifts during the snow, so he could be getting off a 12hr shift and worn out.

I'd take the money and invest in an aftermarket bumper.

I totally agree with the props for coming forward. I guess I was more worried about the rear axle and drive train, seeing that it was pushed about 18" sideways. But after clearing the snow and driving it (dounuts) :D around the parking lots everything seems all good. Just needs a new bumper and some paint.

it doesn't look that bad and the rear-end is pretty light so moving a foot probably isnt a huge distance. but... i would still have it looked at to make sure there's no permanent frame damage. that's just me. :gossip:

On the bright side, the guy was respectful and now you have a great reason to get a sweet bumper!

I was in Home Depot, parked, opened my door, a gust of wind blew it open. It smahed the door mirror on the car parked next to me. I left a note with my phone number on their windshield. Wound up costing me $200. I was pissed, but would have been more pissed off if it happened to me and someone just drove off. At least the guy maned up.
