I don't care much for em. I worked an ECP the last 2 months of my most recent deployment and we had a scanner just like those. 1-we didn't pay any attention to it regardless of who or what gender went through. 2- I went through with my weapon and gear and you couldn't tell that I had a weapon, maybe it wasn't as good of quality but who knows, if it cant see an M-4 there's something wrong. It had a feature that would put a box around anything suspicous but they disabled it because of too many false hits.

They are just giving you the illusion of being safe. A sense of false security, if you will. If someone wants to get something on the plane, they will figure out a way of doing it. Hey ...... if they really want to see me naked, there are probably cheaper ways of doing it .. LOL.

First off the poll sucks. Let me say that I think they (security, TSA) is a pile of shit. They are going about this bass ackward. Yes, we need tight security for the airlines. The responsibility should not rest solely on the govt. The airlines should also have their own security protocols in place.
Let's start profiling, YES PROFILING people and use trained professionals to query passengers before boarding if they seem the least bit suspicious.

Other airlines the world over do indeed excerise their own protocols with much success.

If you feel offended by a particualer airlines security protocols then go fly with "un secure airlines". I don't give a shit. Personally I'd like to fly El Al all the fucking time but they don't go to Phoenix.

If they scan the whole body why do I have to take off my shoes? of my jacket and hat? I don;t really carer if they scan but why should we empty our pockets and everything if they can see through it anyway.

The problem with this is... Read: No offense to any members, but they are going to screen 88 year old grandmothers from the US just as much as they would screen a 22 year old Iraqi with a turbin whispering with his eyes closed... PC is going to far with this, and it's time to start profiling.

not an airline situation, but look at the double agent that blew up in the CIA base in afghan....no one searched him based on the uniform he was wearing. he walked right in

That's a fluke, how often has that happened... 88 yr old grandmothers don't have a reputation for blowing up planes or having terrorist's views.

Not sure what you have against the poll. I asked how you feel about the scanners, then gave 5 options to guage opinions. Your comment bashed the poll, then turned a rant on non-scanner related security options. I didn't ask "tell me your optimal security situation." I asked if you felt that the scanners were a violation, or might be useful.

a lot of suicide bombings in iraq have been by people dressed in iraqi uniforms. all they need to do is pass as one long enough to get up to the gate. also look at how they were strapping women w/ bombs, sending them out into crowded areas and blowing them up. profiling will only make them use another mule for the payload. thats like they did w/ this nigeria kid. no one would suspect him...he doesnt look like he'd be an operative. only thing that didnt work was the bomb.

if ur gonna question everyone that may or may not be a terrorist, it'd just be quicker for everyone involved to have everyone checked.

they need to get the large walkthrough scanners like 'total recall' and be done w/ it
