Let's see it. I'm starting to look at the Hemi a little bit myself.

The Tacoma is going to last a lot longer, especially the transmission.

I meant by that he is looking a chevy, because all of my friends who have Chevys have lots of issues, if he really needed a full sized, he would be better off with Tundra, or maybe a Ford.

I came to a Tacoma from a Silverado. They are harder to park in town, they get blown around on the interstate more, they get less 'real' MPG, things break on them (new F150 is too new to tell, Silvery, you'll start spending money it around 100k). The trannys are rediculously high geared to get more MPG. They shift out of overdrive ALL the time going 80 mph down the interstate. It's also not as easy to work on as the Tacoma, if that's your thing.

That being said, the cab is bigger, seats are more comfy, more creature comforts, it tows and hauls more, and your passengers in the cab are more comfortable too.

It's hard to understate how much harder it is to park and drive a full size in a concrete jungle than it is a mid-size. I'm loving my Tacoma and I live in a 'small' city. If I lived in actual city, a mid-size pickup is a no-brainier.

Also, remember that the Tacoma is about as big as the Silverados from the 80s. The new ones are just HUGE. It's hard to understate how HUGE the Tundras, F150s and Silverados are these days. HUGE. Ridiculously HUGE

Very nice Larry! I may have a little bit of truck envy. I'm undecided on the Ram boxes for if...more likely when...I purchase a Ram. I don't like the idea of losing width, but the small items that I cram around the big stuff when I head for the cottage, I could probably just stuff in the Ram Box. Easier to access that stuff in there too. Probably one of those things where you wonder how you ever lived without it if you were to get a truck that had them.

Love the Ram. Best truck I've owned. And I've had King Ranch. I've had Denalli. Etc.

The RamBoxes are nothing short of spectacular. And you still have over 4' wide in the bed. Also comes with a cool bed divider that fits every 6" the lenght of the bed...it stowes to the front of the bed...and also becomes a tagate extender.

400 HP and 420 TQ. And 16/20 mpg with a consistant 18 mpg combined makes me happy.

Plus I love the sound of the Hemi exhaust note coming from the dual tailpipes that are "frenched" into he rear bumper.

I just put the magnaflow cat back with the 5" tips with a K&N CAI. It sounds even more badass now.

That sounds pretty cool. I've been emailing with a dealer, but haven't droppe by their lot yet to have a close look at the Ram bed system.

I had a quad cab rental for a few days when I went to the cottage last month. Needed a truck to haul a bed full of wood pellets, and 4-wheel drive to climb my steep driveway. image.jpgimage.jpg
Kind of get an appreciation of how steep the driveway is, but the picture doesn't really do it justice. Can kind of tell where I stopped to take the pictures is above the roof line. It's a two story structure, and the run down that slope is shorter than it looks in photos. Wouldn't be able to climb that snow covered slope in a rental Rav 4. Truck did it without issue, even a few times before I had a chance to snowblow about 10 inches of snow out first. Also hauled out the blower I borrowed from dad to clean up the driveway. Loved every minute spent driving that truck.

As much as I love the Tundra, I would venture to say if I were to go with a new full size it would be the Ram. The interiors are real nice, and they are the best looking on the outside to me

My dad just got a left over 15 Ram EcoDiesel Big Horn for $28k and won't shut up about it. "I got 27mpg on my trip last week" blah blah blah.. meanwhile my Taco is getting 14. Though.. if I did end up switching, I'd probably go with the Hemi.
