This is an odd thread to find its way specifically in the 3rd gen section. Are us 3rd genners more qualified to help you figure out what full sized to buy?

Chevy transmission is junk, Ford is an aluminum can and butt ugly. Ram is the best bang for the buck. If I ever go full size again, that would be my choice.

F-150! I would say Tundra but its outdated. If you don't care about that, then Tundra is going to be most reliable

I would say it's a toss up between Ford and Toyota.

I worked on and around GMs for too many years to ever own one again. Same issues they were having 15 years ago are still popping up today. 60,000 miles and they just start hating life.

You just can't trust FCA quality. The newer Rams are decent but just can't trust them.

Tundra is a great truck. Damn near indestructible. Loved mine. However, you have to really buy up to get a lot of features the domestics offer even in lower trims.

Leaves me with the Ford. If you do get an Eco-boost then be sure to at least get a powertrain warranty. Ford tech I speak to says they are still having issues with the timing chains. Not all do it but it's like $3k to fix if it goes down.

My friend bought a F-150 just about the same time I got my Tacoma. It's a really nice truck. He gets 15mpg (V8) vs 21mpg for mine (V6). Yikes!

Maybe you should post this in a full size truck forum.

If the Tundra didn't feel 15 years old on the interior styling and get the worst fuel economy in its class, I'd be down

    Ram makes a fine truck

Ford's are nice but waaayy overpriced

I've never owned a chebby but my work trucks have always been chebbys. While I've never had one leave me stranded they ride like garbage, the engine is noisy with valvetrain chatter and the interiors pop and squeak and tear very easy

F-150! My friend just bought a 2016 XLT with the V6 Ecoboost. It is really nice. I'm sure the other trucks are good trucks, but the F-150 is so loaded with features and capabilities that you basically have to talk yourself out of it to get something else.

I have a 2017 Ford Expedition with Ecoboost and it is one helluva an engine! Lots of power out of that little V6!

I vote for Ford F-150. Hate the current look but too many people say good things about them.

Far too much common sense in far to few words. It just doesn't fit in this forum or sub forum...
