I went from a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 magnum V8. Anybody else go from something similar. Any regrets.

The only thing I miss is the height on the bed. I have the Toyota bed cover and I can't fit my orca cooler in it with cover closed. That just might be the cover too.

Also had an ‘02 Ram before getting my 2006 Tacoma. Don’t miss paying my mechanic...

My 02 ram was the new body style but had the old magnum engine. I bought the truck in 09 and it honestly was an awesome truck up until the last 2 years.
Honestly if I didn't buy it from my grandmother for the price I got for it. I probably would have already been in a Tacoma. I loved that truck from the day she brought it home from the dealership new. I even said to her that I would own it one day. Lol

Yeah that's true. Not a big issue currently if push comes to shove. And I need the space I'll probably just take it off. Seems pretty simple to take off.

Since we are talking soft toppers. What do you like?

I had Honda Ridgeline... if you can really consider it a truck... felt more like an suv but had my fun with it tho

I went from Amazon roll up toaunnou cover to bestop supertruck2 to a are dcu cap in less than 8 months. Love my soft top but not practical for daily use as i have to be able to get stuff in and out several times a day. Still have my soft top when i wanna swap and use for play

I went from a 2005 Ram 5.7l to my Tacoma. I was worried I'd miss the hemi power but so far I am content. I've always had a open bed before and now I have the OEM Tonneau Cover. I love being able to lock and conceal my stuff.

Oh it's a pain. I have the Diamondback and can't quite get the Yeti with wheels in. About 1/4" too short.

I bought the orca because I liked that it was completely made in the USA. I love the cooler and wouldn't sell it.

I bought the Yeti because of the wheels. I think the Pelican was the only other one with wheels.

Not sure where Pelicans are made, but Yeti is made in the U.S. and Philippines

'03 Tundra to '17 Tacoma and now '20 Tacoma.

I had 4.88's in the Tundra, which made it very fun to drive. Unless I was driving 70 or more on the interstate. 100L gas tank (26.6 Gal) couldn't even make 200 miles without needing another top off. I also had 35's and a 5" lift on it, so that contributed to the crap gas mileage. But imagine driving that thing from Washington state to Georgia. Gas cost more daily than the hotels did. The Tundra had a few issues. Broke a tie rod by hitting a pot hole on the interstate during my cross country drive. Easy fix, but I think one of the tires got severely damaged because my tires (in theory only 1) would never stay balanced longer than a week, even with driving very little. Truck was expensive on gas, decided I wanted to upgrade while at the dealership having them perform the airbag recall. I miss it, I check up on it from time to time through the my Carfax app. Some other lucky owner probably crawling it around in the Colorado mountains. But, I have zero regrets going to the Tacoma. Almost the same exact dimensions and much newer technology, which I appreciate.

The only thing I miss is the 5 foot wide, 8 foot long bed on the GMC.

Lifetime coolers are made in the USA. With a warranty....Plus I wouldn’t spend $400 on a cooler.

ha... can’t believe my wife spent $97 on a cooler that will fit in my tacoma but she did!

I actually didn't know that they were made in the USA. The only question I would have is the warranty. Orca backs everything in theirs for life. I break a handle or latch. I make a call and they replace it no questions asked. Now like the the outer shell. It has to show it broke on its own and it wasn't neglect on my part.

That Chevy is awesome! I still want a full sized dually but they suck for city driving.

I’m not a third gen but I went from a 1973 c10 to my Tacoma. I miss it everyday but the Tacoma is way nicer, better on gas, and a 4x4.

I only haul maybe a few plywood sheets and some 2x4's regularly....or my motorcycle...and rarely a car on a trailer...so I went with a smaller truck and one that has a reputation of reliability. If I was to haul a car on a trailer on the regular or anything more I would have gotten a dodge truck. Also known for reliability...more so than chevy or ford at least. Hauled a gutted 84 supra on a trailer with a ford f-150, truck struggled to go and stop...same car hauled using a 5.7 tundra...it was like the car and trailer weren't even there...kept looking in the rearview cause I legit thought the whole setup detached. I like tundras but dodge trucks are my go to for routine mid-heavy hauling. Like I said, I won't be doing that so I went with the Taco.
