    Check build thread!
Also- RCI Transmission skid is installed now. I will keep this updated if I have heat issues, but I doubt I will.

Almost got my shop set up at home. Will re-route the exhaust myself when finally get set up. Gonna cut the muffler off and install a Borla in place of it while I'm under there, too.
I did my '07 Ram 1500 years ago w/stainless pipe and a new muffler. Eezy Peezy

$400-ish canuckistan pesos at a shop

If the shop uses a prefab Y-collector piece, the crossover pipe can be positioned farther away from the T-case actuator.

I have had my aluminum CBI skids on (engine and transmission/diff) skids on for two summers here in Arizona (with temps regularly at 105 Degrees F and above) and have taken them out for 6 hour slow, up and down hills off roading and have not had temperature problems. Don't have CAT shields though. Also even though I don't have a skid on my fuel tank, I haven't seen any scratches or scrapes on the existing plastic skid that came with my 2020 TRD OR. The fuel tank is quite high up and just never seems to be a clearance problem. I don't rock crawl but have driven some pretty rough roads/creeks with boulders up to 18" though.

The only temperature related problem, is that I blow fuses to my ARB dual air compressor. The fuses are under the hood and temps get up to about 180 degrees in there and then the added heat load from powering up my air compressor in addition to the engine heat and the high outside temps has caused the 40A fuses to blow.

Phoenix Valley can be brutal in June. I like hiking in 110s but many hide during the day and hike South Mountain Park after 10 PM because of it.

Look out for the white TRD 4x4 OR double cab when you are out ... I hope that will be me.

I have to get back onto Bloody Basin (Agua Fria) and Crown King and seriously try Superstition Mountain area roads.

    Somewhere in the Mojave Desert...
    Vehicle:
    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
I had to drive a lot of off-road in the Mojave during the summer for work a while back and never had overheating issues with my full Mobtown (RIP) plates. The only time there was ever an issue though was after driving it across a mud and silt covered road. There was so much goo under the truck, it packed between the top of the plates and the transmission, and also clogged up the radiator. It was hell getting it off- it turned to a thin ceramic layer on the cats, and so had to drop the plates to clean them- it looked like a giant brownie pan.

I've never overheated with my full set of mobtown steel skids. When i travel up north from Phoenix to Flagstaff I leave it in S3/S4 holding 70mph+/5k RPMS for 15 minutes straight in 120 degree heat up a huge grade (see chart below) with 33" and a ton of weight and never had a problem

There is a sign on I-17 just before that upgrade ... "TURN OFF AC TO SAVE ENGINE".

I have all RCI skids, engine, transmission, transfer case, lower control arms, gas tank, rear diff. Went with steel. Can't complain, they serve their function.

Mine is the exact same way. I could hear a slight rumble noise and thought something bad was grinding or binding. Now after a few hours of research I believe this is the cause. Hopefully they get a fix soon if not I’ll just keep the radio up.
