So the ceramic coating on my aFe did NOT hold up well this summer. I called the guy in Phoenix who did it and he is going to re-do it. He insists the stuff will hold up to just about anything I can throw at it. In reality it should, the stuff is supposed to be bomb proof.

Problem is he lives in PHX and I live in FLG, 170 apart. So a friend of mine took it down to him this morning and I am running sans catback for now. I should post up what that sounds like. It's loud, but not as loud as I thought it was going to be. I should have everything back on by Saturday morning.

You and me both. If I was you, I'd spray paint the pipes with high heat paint

Failure to care. I'd rather do my frame and don't have time to have my truck down that long

Couple of questions for those who bought the afe:

Have you looked inside the exhaust tip and seen noticeable surface rust?
Have you ever tried running without the exhaust tip?

I have seen some rust, so I took mine off to get it blasted. After I did I noticed the exhaust note was slightly more muted...and I like it.

Surface rust all to fuck? Surface rust isn't a big deal, it just looks like shit.

Couple pieces of weld have fallen off in different areas. All of the clamps leak moisture, the inside of the tip is rusted, the outside of the tip is covered in carbon deposits and rust.

I wrote (email) to AFE asking if i could purchase a replacement tip, never herd back.

I'm working on something with an afe rep right now. When I get more detail I'll share. The 409SS on the tubing will eventually exhibit some surface rust in almost all conditions. The 304SS tip shouldn't at all really.

I don't mean to berate the company, i'm just frustrated that such an amazing sounding product has held up so poorly.

    I'm wiling to provide pictures
