    This is a true statement. I run a Scangauge II and coasting in gear shuts off the fuel, gauge show 9999 mpg. Coast in neutral while very high is still using fuel to keep the engine idling.

    Like I said, I fill it up full. I have put just over 21.1 gallons in before and I never went more than 10 miles past 0. (I put more than 18.5 in my gen 1 before, too.) There is apparently some reserve on the bottom end and you can probably fill some over the top of the tank. Somewhere I saw the capacity listed as "21.1 (reference)". Why would they put "reference"?

    My Fuelly account is not some elaborate ruse to say my gas tank is bigger than yours.

    (Cue the "you're not supposed to top off your tank" crew.)

    Seriously? Fuelly 2017 Raptors are averaging 14.3 mpg. All Ford 2017 3.5s are at 15.9. All 2017 Tacoma 3.5 are at 18.9.

    As I said "at low output" this 3.5 is very efficient; at mid to high it's just like every other modern engine 3.5 V6.

    Yeah, I do have 4wd but I don't use it on normal work/leisure driving. Honestly, not sure why your Taco is not reading over 385. I got 416 for the first time just last night on my drive down to LA and what a drive it was. Windy as hell on I-5 with metal parts sticking out on the long bed. My head still hearing the rattle from the metal clunking around, haha.

    Also, if your truck is dumb and doing 491 and 438 on full tank than I want mine to return it's high school diploma, haha. I get nowhere near that number. Although mine says 385-416, I probably get 350 - 375 miles at best on full tank. I know my driving has 80% to do with it. The other 20% is ECT and using S4-6. I really hate the lag on the auto trans when trying to pick up speed. My foot is through the firewall if I'm not at least using ECT.

    Since most people are 'pics or it didn't happen'...
    Mine starts at 385 and never goes up;
    after I go 20 miles it goes down by 10 (375);
    after 50, down by 25 (360);
    after 100, down by 50 (335);
    after 200, down by 100 (285).
    It doesn't start to go 1:1 until I've driven about 250 miles (at my current fill level).

    Well, this seems to have shut things off. Best post on the subject I've seen.

    I have a little over 5000 Miles and the mileage has been the same since I drove off the lot with 1 mile on the odometer.

    That's really weird.

    Mine always goes to 385, then if I'm getting good gas mileage it just counts down slower.

    5K miles, been 385 since day 1 except for a road trip. I get nothing close to 385 out of a tank. It def behaves differently from my wife's Accord. That thing seems to recalculate much more frequently. After seeing how her car works I give less pfuks about my trucks poor math skills.
