Some articles on the 2024 Tacoma I’ve seen such as
    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a43921921/2024-toyota-tacoma-revealed/
have stated that the TRD SPORT will have full time four wheel drive.

My first impression was this was misrepresented because based on past vehicles I thought if there’s any model Toyota would give that to, it’s the Limited.
Not to mention some of the videos I’ve seen reviewing the blue TRD SPORT did not talk about it.

I’m sorry if this was talked about already, I just figured I’d open a dialog about this option. Discussing not just supposed rumors but the positive and negative sides to that type of powertrain and what kind customer this would be ideal for.

Maybe an option but standard on the limited. Dunno. When the configurator goes up we'll know for sure. But the FT4wd will have some of the worst MPG ratings for sure.

I would say they made an error in that article because the Limited is going to be the one with it.

Too bad they can’t make an XRunner with it.

I got a sawzall that will make it an xrunner limited :) but also adaptive dampers... Probably a first for midsize trucks.

My FJ was MT with the AWD and it was rated at 15/19 mpg where the auto with the typical 2WD/4HI/4LO was 16/20 mpg I believe. The MPG hit will be real, but I think it will be minor.

My FJ avg'd right at 16.75 MPG like clockwork per hand math calculations.

For a time in the 1970's and early 80's you had a hard time buying a domestic 1/2 ton truck that didn't have Full Time 4 Wheel drive. Most 3/4 and 1 tons still came with part time 4X4. Chevy, GMC, Jeep, and Dodge didn't even offer the option of part time 4X4. It was an option on Ford, but most were built without it. Fuel mileage sucked either way. We're talking single digits in city driving and low teens hwy. Part time 4X4 would give you maybe 1 more MPG.

We had a Chevy Astro van that was AWD. No real world difference in fuel mileage compared to others without.

That would be pretty insane. Especially with the iForce Max.
