Yes, it just replaces your drain plug. My drain plug was not magnetic.

I just had the drainplug out yesterday and do not think it was magnetic.

I'm about to take my truck in for the 20k service. If I bring in a Fumoto drain plug do you think the dealer will install?

Litterally just got home via the dealership shuttle service. Dropped it off for multiple service issues this morning. Told them while they are doing my oil change, to swap out the drain plug for the fumoto valve I brought them... said no problem.

Sure he will. Just tell him it will make his job easier the next time you bring your truck in for an oil change. :D

Same as the other replies. They simply screw it in instead of the drain plug. Easy peasy.

I had a Fumoto drain valve Standard model on my Dodge Cummins for 15 years. I drilled a tiny hole in the end of the valve and safety wired it shut each oil change to make sure it would pop open while off on some hunting road somewhere far, far from nowhere..... I will definitely consider one on my Tacoma. By far the perfect way to drain engine oil. Save your arm pits and shirts from getting hot oil running down your arm, and spend the $

My F-103N appears to be leaking.
Tightened the nipple. Its oil, just bad lighting.

The seal to the oil pan is dry so this must be coming from the ball valve? Other than pulling it off any other recommendations?

Wow I am surprised to see that. What a bummer. It m8ght be a silly question but are you sure it is in the closed position. Perhaps remove the rubber cap and cycle the valve ?

    Workin' on it....
Plastic clip is in place and the metal lever is horizontal -- looks closed to me. The clips don't go on if the lever isn't fully closed.

When you installed it you didn't use a wench on the nipple section to tighten it did you? As I've heard Fumoto valves can get damaged do to over tighten the nipple fitting if people use that to install the valve instead of the valve body.

Yikes I totally used the hex part with my torque wrench. Guess I should have read the instructions better. No leaks so far. Wonder if I should reinstall.

    Original-with-wrench.jpg
    Installation for Standard Fumoto Valves
    1. Prepare: Remove the drain plug from your oil pan and drain oil completely. Be sure that the surface of your oil drain port is clean before proceeding with installation.
    2. Assemble: Place the blue fiber gasket (not required for tapered thread or O-ring valves) onto the valve so it will sit flat between the oil pan and the valve once installed.
    3. Hand-Tighten: Begin gently threading the valve into your oil drain port by hand. Once you have ensured that the valve is straight and not cross-threaded, hand-tighten completely.
    4. Torque: Tighten the valve with a crescent wrench on the body of the valve* an additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Do not over tighten.

*Do not use a wrench on the hex head if present

**An adapter may be required if the valve cannot be completely tightened due to contact with the oil pan.
    5. Close and lock: Close the valve by firmly turning the control lever clockwise until it stops and is perpendicular to the oil outlet. The lever will click into the recess and lock in position. You should not be able to rotate the lever without first lifting upward.
    6. Clip on and fill up: Install a lever clip if desired around the turret of the valve. If the lever is not seated properly, the lever clip will not fit. Refill the oil to complete your oil change. Always inspect the oil pan for leaks before operating your vehicle.

Looks like it's leaking from the nipple. Try tightening just the nipple part.

If you don't have any leaks I wouldn't bother. Have a look at it when you change your oil to ensure it isn't leaking but you are probably fine.

That would make the oil go all over my skidplate, the ones that point down are the appropriate ones for the tacoma. No need for a swiveling valve, and it doesn't appear ypou gain much clearance with the SX series.
