Can someone save me time and tell me which Fumoto drain valve is correct for a 2021 Trd Off-road, and is there one that works with the Motivix oil change kit or are they apples and oranges. On a slightly different note, Amazon says the Motivix oil change kit that I was going to get at the recommendation of one of these threads is said not to fit my truck. What gives? Thanks—

Not sure about the valve as I don’t use one. But get the kit, definitely great. Just used it the other day.

Thw Motive X kit had no connection to the drain valve. That is, if I'm reading your comment correctly.
The Motive kit fits into the filter housing. But makes 0 difference if you have the Fumoto or not

Fumoto will definitely take more time, but less effort.

I open my valve and go do something else while it drains. I never timed it but I'd guesstimate that it takes over 20 minutes to drain the oil alone thru the Fumoto. I also use motiv filter drain adaptor and hose - also takes more time than just popping in the Toyota plastic plug that comes with an OEM filter imo.

If you're looking for time savings, just take the nut out and filter out. If you're looking for convenience, tubes that drains directly into a capped container is cake. Worrying about splashing oil all over the place is the what makes oil changes tedious.

I change my filter every other oil change. So during the times I don't change it, it's a quick and less of a commitment to do - say on a weekday after work - rather than waiting for 'more time on the weekend' to change it.

Pop the hood, open oil fill cap, climb under the truck and open the Fumoto. Go have dinner. When done, climb under and close the valve, fill her up, done. No finding your 3/8's, remembering what socket size, worry about over torque, or oil drooling down your arm.

After going around on the different valves I got the current f133, mainly because of the ball valve design vs plunger styles.

1-Are you all using the gasket that comes with the fumoto or the Toyota drain plug crush washer?

2-do you use a ziptie to hold the locking clip in place or is that over thinking it?

    Fumoto gasket.

    Overthinking it, imo.

I had one on my Jeep Liberty CRD. It was a very nice thing and very recommended for that Jeep because of the aluminum oil pan and how easily it could be damaged.
I've been thinking about this for the Tacoma too. Just wasn't sure how Toyota would deal with it while I was under Toyota care but that's over now

I’d rather ask and know than guess and be wrong.....you know measure twice cut once.

I also got that motivix kit and was looking to get the metal filter housing and oddly that says it doesn’t fit.

Have you been able to get a short hose in the short nipple valve?

I think I'm gonna get one at some point before I do my next oil change. I have the knock off TRD style skid Plate. Trying to decide short or long. Had the original one on my Jeep Liberty CRD.
I don't know if I like the idea of something hanging down lower than needed. The valve did make oil changes cleaner. The original one on the jeep just drained in a stream straight down.
