My RCI transmission skid has a hole for the transmission drain plug (pretty sure it is the drain plug). But opening it could splash all over the skid. Is there an equivalent adjustable-rate drain for the transmission pan?

My truck has 15k, so there is time. And the transmission plate would have to be removed again, but ...

There's a drain and a check, plus filling with the plate in the way would be a pain too. 3 plugs.

I remove skids when I do services. Even with holes. The mess isnt worth the time possibly saved.

Figured that much, else I would have read about it. Well ... I have time before transmission skid must be removed.

Some good news ... the "soft armor" I selected for my forearms prevented bruising while futzing installing engine and transmission skid after the first oil change.

This... The fill plug which you should always remove first is near the top of the trans, so you will need to remove the skid plate.

I don't know about 3rd Gen's but transmissions normally have a magnet on said drain plug.

I'd want to retain that feature for whenever I drain/fill my transmission.

No magnets on the trans drain plug. They are in the bottom of the trans pan. The Diffs have them.

Yeah I remember the Tacoma (1G) and 4Runner (3G) had it in the pan.

Wasn't sure about a 3rd Gen; thanks for clarifying :hattip:
