thanks, that makes my decision not to buy it, harder :(

yea, i was thinking the same thing, the biggest benefit to me, would be skipping the drain pan, and going straight into a gallon of milk + lil bit extra

    none yet
I have it on my taco and my car. Darn thing hangs like a nut under the oil pan. My low clearance car makes me real uncomfortable having this darn thing hanging down so low.

Why are you removing the engine cover for an oil change?

Sometimes I take mine off for a better grip with my shitty oil filter pliers. I really need a better oil filter tool.

You're right. I just need to break down and by the best tool for the job. Instead of going the cheaper route.

Minus the fact the valve slows down the flow of oil. It's nice that I don't get touched with oil and I can open the valve with my finger. :)

Fumoto now has a plastic locking device for those that are worried about the lever being accidentally opened. Yes, it may not be the optimal solution, but it gives me a little more piece of mind. They also have the short nipple valve and you can get the connection hose for it.

I've never needed a wrench or pliers on my filters, just my hands.
I use regular Toyota filters, rub oil on the seal, install hand tight.
Install a new plug gasket and torque plug to 30 ft lbs.

    I agree with this post!

Plus if it is installed correctly and you aren't a girl you can usually get the filter off by hand.

    Lubricate the threads and seal.
Spin the filter on until the gasket contacts the base.
Tighten By Hand 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn.
    Done.

Even to take off? I always only hand tighten, but can't get it off without a filter wrench.

How loose are you putting the filter on? Because I'm hardly a girl, and there's no way I'm getting it off by hand.
