I have a Fumoto in my lower gut.

Then I don't have to lift my ass to fart while driving.

I make sure the safety clip is secure... don't want blow off gas by accident.

This . Installed one of these bad boys after my IFS skid, and it makes for a quick oil change without tools, and no mess at all!

I'm installing one of these on my Jeep because I have skids as well, the oil doesn't drain through the skid hole and instead pans out everywhere and makes a mess. I don't think I'd run one without skids though, I'll definitely be putting one on the taco once I buy one haha

Another possibility is the valve catches on some rock at an odd angle and loosens, eventually causing the diff oil to leak out. This is a known occurrence even with the stock drain plug, giving rise to the socket-head plugs (like those used on the front diff).

No you are acting like the average person is too stupid to change their oil. You think because a couple people have made mistakes then we should all give up and pay someone to change our oil.

Not sure why you make a big deal out of using a 14mm wrench to unscrew a bolt in 2-3 seconds.

You remind me of Aunt Josephine off Series of Unfortunate Events. "Use a Futuma valve so you don't slip on oil and decapitate yourself!"

Mistakes happen. Its not a reason to not pick up tools.

I just take a large rock and knock a hole in my oil pan, drain it, then jb weld the hole back. Oil pan looks like a teenage boy with severe acne but it's the manly way to do it. Like Geico says, it's so easy a caveman could do it.

I was, thanks. Maybe we should start using red text on TW for sarcasm, works well on other forums...

Conclusion - some like the valve, others don't. Decent points on both sides but no one is changing anyone's mind. I'll add Fumoto valve to the list of things like religion and politics not to bring up at the dinner table. :D

To the OP - I'd guess most people with a valve do their own maintenance which is why they have it. I can't fault a 10 minute oil change place for refusing to touch it. They probably don't see many of them.:notsure:

I put a fumoto valve on each of my tires. Makes it easy to change the air in my tires every 3000 miles. Driving on old air in tires is bad for our trucks.

Added a zip-tie for peace of mind, th small ones fit perfectly and I will need to cut it to open the valve.

I put the oil pan drain bolt back in the fumoto valve after I threaded it. Now I can do it both ways at the same time. I think I’m on to something here that will bring peace.

The fumoto appears to be the solution to those that are confused by the use of a wrench.

They make a little plastic clip that holds the valve shut too. I loved my fumoto when i had it. Had the tube and it drained right into one of the empty costco milk jugs i stored. When that one was full, close valve and swap milk jugs. Had a 1/4 inch ifs skid, so i wasnt worried about anything shearing it off.

So you’re not suppose to drain the tranny and double fill the engine oil and not check the dipstick?
