Dude, for real though. I've seen some guys run light bars up there (hood scoop location) and they end up getting ARB front and rear lockers. Thats the best of both worlds right there. That's a DIY Pro IMO.

With the same size tires as the TRD packages... it was bouncing like crazy!! Get new shocks. You won’t regret it.

Or the Honda civics with the giant spoilers? Haha I mean no disrespect. I almost got a sport model because I didn’t want the locker on my 4x4, but I got them to give me one hell of a deal on the SR5.

I don’t have a locker either, I had one on my frontier and it completely failed. Under warranty, it was in the shop for 7 weeks as they tried to figure out what was wrong with it. Refer to above section, I almost got a sport! I think the skewps looks amazing. Definitely want one.

I'm a huge WRX fan. I really love the way the faux scoop looks, I just couldn't justify the money.

Keeping mine stock until I wear it out. Then i will spend the 4 grand to put the lift and wheels with tires on.

I wanted another dcsb sr5 with the 6mt. But they didn't make that combo for 2017. So I went with a offroad over a sport because I didn't like any of the sport suspenion reviews. And I personally didn't like the wheels or colormatched fenders. ( not to say I wouldnt like the colormatched fendor flares with an 80s graphic kit!)

Only the automatic transmissions get crawl control. Manuals do not and its for the best imo.

Manual is crawl control at its finest. Just saying.

    OP's ACTUAL QUESTION ..........
    How does it function?
Is it truly open and feeding air into the engine bay?
If so, does it have some sort of means of filtering what comes in?
If not, can something be added to prevent excessive crap entering?

My dumbass comment was at least on topic

    Post #3, 4, 5, 6, 8, etc... it’s non functional. Doesn’t let air in to engine bay.
