    It lightens your wallet.
In some ways it looks good, other ways kind of toyish if that's even a word.
One article I read said cartoonish.

The hood scoop on a sport is only for looks!!!!The hood scoop looks cool everydayHow often do you really think the OR guys use crawl mode Really they make different models to give us a choice.Keep in mind we ALL have the best mid sized truck made.If we lift and off road,or look cool on the road,we should be glad we are driving a TACOMA!!!!

Well, I don't know what the purpose of the skewp is, however, I have to make sure my wife isn't wearing a dress if we take the truck anywhere, if you get my drift.

Crawl control uses the ABS system and ECU. Both of these exist on all trim levels. You get a beefed up brake booster when you have it, so arguably, the crawl control trucks will have the exact same reliability, or be more reliable.

Generally it’s a wash. The Sport computer is as likely to fail as the Pro computer, or the SR computer. And so far, across the board, these computers have proven very reliable for the several decades automakers have been using them. “Bricked” ECUs, or failed ABS systems are actually pretty rare. The sensors can get jammed with mud, but again, that affects all trim levels.

I managed to get my hands on a training video from the Texas Toyota plant for the line where they turn the SR5s into TRD Sports. This is top secret. Don’t rat me out.

That’s where you’re mistaken sir. From this thread I am able to take away a few things..

    1) point of a scoop is to get a woman to wear this garment.
    2) those garters are man handles, like reins on a saddled horse...something to grab on to, thanks to your scoop.
    3) the derailment about suspension in this thread has educated me as well
    4) there is a trim rivalry within the Tacoma forum family.

I need a bag of popcorn.

You get a decal on the pro hood. Adds 7.6HP.

To scoop or not to scoop. That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to go sport or off road.

I have a 4x4 OR and I changed my regular hood for a TRD SPORT/Pro hood.. and tbh it was worth the money to me.. it makes the truck look a lot more aggressive. Lol even though the hood scoop has no true performance functionality
