Funky Noise In Dash

    Hope I can splain in correctly. On any other setting other than defrost, I get a sound like the vent doors n dash are constantly opening and closing. Anyone run into this before. Sorry forgot, 02 Xcab 4x4 auto 3.4. Thanks folks

    It could acually be that the vent doors are constantly opening and closing. Look on the bright side, winter's coming.

    Ive got no helpfull info, but i do know that its a fairly common problem in the later models. Try searching on here or hopefully someone can post a link to one of the usefull threads...

    Mine does that too if the weather is mild (70s) AND the temperature knob is all the way counterclockwise (cold). If you set the temperature up one click clockwise from full cold (or anywhere above full counterclockwise cold) it will stop.

    I think it has something to do with the climate control thermostat having the off/on temperature set too close together so the duty cycle is basically zero. I can't prove that and don't ask me how to fix it.

    Mine does it also, it's the blend door actuator servo. From what I can find is that it when it stats going crazy it on its way out. Been doing it for over a year now so I just deal with it.

    DAMN, I miss the cable slide temp adjuster. Life use to b so simple. Thanks Taco, btw where the hell is that thing for when it goes out. Thanks man.
