What I'm about to say is beyond dispute.

You only need two types of firearm for ALL common gun owner needs (hunting, home defense, target practice, range , tactical , run-gun, homestead survival, revolution, orgy, 4th July celebration..all)

-AR series (pick configuration which applies to needs, but ONLY chambered in 5.56)
-Bolt action (pick caliber and config which applies to needs)


Shotgun, trash (hurts the shoulder, and cannot indiscriminately pop off more than 30rds in succession reliably and frantically).

Pistols, garbage , generally won't even stop small rodents (I know they are concealable, but let's be honest your CCW is just an excuse to pretend you are captain save-a-hoe). If something is going down you should be within reach of your AR or you should just run and cower away like a normal person who wants to live, duh. Pishhhh pistols, don't even get me started. How the hell are supposed to even hold them steady anyways? If you think you can use one as a secondary , I would argue using the AR as a club is much more effective.

I don't mind the dude's truck. However, it's fairly obvious that it's not worth what he's asking. But, he'll get close because CA is full of like-minded twats who love to pretend to do cool shit by paying other people to do cool shit.

No. He didn't build shit. He bolted some mass-production parts on it and called it, "Overland built." You can go buy this truck and have everything he did to it installed by your local 'fabrication professional' within a week. I wouldn't say his truck is a POS, it's just another run-of-the-mill carbon copy of all the other wanks trying to flex to look cool without actually accomplishing anything besides wasting money on shit that's not really needed.

Personally, he embodies everything obnoxious in this new overlanding culture shit. It may be my age, or a generational thing, or a social class thing...not sure, but I do know that he didn't build a damn thing. If everything you glue and bolt on to your brand new truck is made for that truck, you upgraded parts, you didn't "build" a fuckin thing.

 

Remember, this $40k US, for us north of the border it is 60k in canadian tire money.
