I was never colder than 33 degrees in the rain in Korea. Just freeze already and let us all die.

tbh, Korea wasn't bad. Granted, I hung out at the KSB and Casey Rec gaming from Friday night 'til late Sunday, and did everything I could off post and without alcohol. Plus, I kinda blend in with the KATUSAs.

adjacent unit supporting us during sustained operations had a tall-lanky kid that talked slow and fucking galloped instead of walked. not all the time, but in little intermittent sprints and with a stronger stride on one side so he kinda galloped diagonally. walk-lope. GALLOP_SPRINT.exe, instant walk fifty feet later. no prompting it, it just just sort of randomly happened, like the run switch in his brain developed a random short. fucking weird, but... OK, I guess.

also: sounded like mush mouth from fat albert.

so this idiot sees fit to practice his stickball swing right outside my hooch, right next to my brand-new ancient NTV. it still had intact glass and someone installed a fan on the dash, it was gorgeous. we're talking about a beautiful-ugly 1997 Land Rover D10 some brits spray-painted and abandoned for the likes of me so I don't have to walk to a contractor dfac like a peasant. It even had a spare and the original jack. I loved it.

hey bro, can you not do that here? you're gonna end up breaking the glass on my truck. k thx bai.

right after i go back into my hooch, i hear one more swing on a rock, then the distinct sound of auto glass being broken.
to their credit, someone from their element replaced it with a wonderful piece of new plexi. D10 windshields are flat for the win.

last straw: don't practice hitting rocks with a broom handle right next to the living accommodations for a formula-one carnivore.

no more mister nice guy. you guys wanted to hang out in the clubhouse and you tracked shit inside on your shoes.
we basically brought it to the PSG (who was worthless) that if he didn't get the shit corrected we'd boot the lot and roll without support
our team leader brought it up to their BDE commander who had the young man removed, along with the PL and PSG.

    mush mouth greatest hits:
caught jerking off in our laundry room, while sitting on top of the washer. i do not recall the setting on the washing machine. the rest is a vision that still haunts me by day.

gets excited to see a green beans at a fob, orders one of those mother of all coffees, and then discovers you can add additional shots for a dollar apiece. overdoses on... caffeine?
protip: someone hands you eight shots of espresso in the same cup? carefully set the cup on the ground and slowly back away.

camouflaged himself with cut opium poppy plants in an OP and almost died. turns out that nobody in their unit had any idea what poppy bulbs looked like.

leaves his NODS on an objective. this one was great: they got hung up in a clothes-drying line and his team leader yelled for him to hurry up. so, he simply cut them away.
we went back, and sure enough, they were hanging on a clothes line when we found them. what he was doing inside was beyond us, they're supposed to be out-cordon.

the clincher: fucking around with an SKL and zeroes it, in the middle of a mission. the fucking screen flashes multiple warnings during the zero process. his defense: he knew he wasn't supposed to be playing with it, but didn't know what else to do but just keep hitting "ok"

not an ill-intentioned young man, just a bona fide fuck up. If I had to express how bad he could fuck something up... I'd need at least a thirty minute block of time, digital presentation equipment, and a scientific calculator

I've wracked my brain trying. I mean, I really tried.

but just like you said, for the life of me... I cannot remember what his name was.
