he brought up a good question, is that for all medical stuff or just scheduled VA appointments? Like he was saying maybe his dad makes too much to get mileage?

I can get mileage if I decide to claim it, and I only live 11 miles from the clinic. I only claim it if I have to go to Temple or Waco, though.

If you have to travel to a VA facility for care, you’re entitled to the mileage.

Very nice to hear. I will be looking into this.

I'm glad I did not bogart the thread with a useless, non military question.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

This. Gives us purpose now that we have none... :pout:

@CaptAmerica - lies, all lies... no one there cares, ever!

j/k- it’s like cops. Everyone hates them (and VA) because 3% are assholes just like any other job ever. There are def issues with the VA, such as being over inundated so care is sometimes slow, lots of red tape... but that’s money and legislation issues, not employees. It’s like getting pissed at the waitress because you don’t like the food. Or mad at the cable tech because a channel is out.

It is a military question, for all military personnel will be crusty old vets eventually. It’s all good!
    Precisely, thanks!

They get less abuse than I do in my current role, so I’ll take it.

This records system migration is killing me - it’s being run by morons who (I can only image) are reading the IKEA instructions backwards. They’re trying to accredit and certify connections that haven’t even been engineered yet, and are wondering why all us security people are so cranky.

It’s the network security version of getting the beans above the frank.

Sounds like typical bureaucracy. I couldn’t even imagine.

Closest I can come- Wife does evidence and they JUST upgraded to digital tags. To save money on the program, they didn’t bring in a form builder. So her and her counter part spent two weeks reading the instructions and trying to build the documents the deputies would use. I don’t even know how many hours she spent on the phone with that companies IT who was trying to walk her through their coding and stuff over the phone. She is not a computer person either. All to save 2k.

We had one (for us), then VA loan originator sent a second for VA items. idk, that's how it worked out for us.

Same. Both my houses the VA or lender sent their own inspector in addition to the inspection I paid for.
