Godiva was a lady who through country did ride
To show the villagers her fine and lily hide
The most observant man of all, an engineer of course,
Was the only one who noticed that Godiva rode a horse

We are, we are, we are, we are, we are the Engineers
We can, we can, we can, we can, demolish forty beers
Drink up, drink up, drink up, and come along with us
For, we don't give a damn for any old man who don't give a damn for us!

She said, "I've come a, long way, and I shall go as far
With the man who takes me from this horse and to a bar
The man who took her from her steed and led her to a beer
    Was a drunken engineer

My squad got ripped a new asshole after we did the
Napalm, Napalm sticks like glue sticks to the women and the children too.
I was never big on cadence when we ran so we would make some tell a joke or a funny story when it was their time to lead the run.

lol yeah they are all pretty much a no go now. I always did interval or release runs just to avoid cadences. Was never really a fan.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I remember the day I realized you could just buy all these parts cheap as hell! When I was a boot losing some small pin was the end of the world, hours combing over the ground looking for it. After a couple years I could have built an AR out of the parts I had in my bag! As a squad leader my guys were always losing shit so I learned to just have them covered. It worked until the day we were sitting in the well deck of the Fort McHenry in the back of an AAV all buttoned up when one of my team leaders goes "hey Sgt, I don't have my NVG's". They had to drain the ship and postpone the launch because they were laying in the floor of the ship under the AAV. The only time I have yelled at someone so hard and so close that they looked like they were in black face from the amount of Copenhagen covering his face! F'ing Skip, I hope that SOB is doing well!

My friend squad lost a set of NVGs in haditha. They combed that city and locked it down for hours. It ended up being that the pouch fell in to a pallet. Fucking Timmons. The next time I went for an intel brief I took some that belong to the army for just in case reasons like that.

I wish I would of thought of buying new parts to replace stuff with in my M16. That would have made life so much easier.
