Yeah, now it doesn't matter whose car you're driving when you go on base!

Nope, just need valid registration, insurance and the driver with a license and a CAC, dependent ID, or retiree ID

My dad never had to show registration to get on base; We were just at a Navy base in Maryland in December and he only had to show his retiree ID...

    What's a CAC?

Your registration has to be current on your vehicle. If it’s expired, regardless of status, you’ll be denied entry into base. Shit, in Virginia, you have state inspection stickers on the windscreen, it it’s past due, they deny you access to the base. Ask me how I know...

A CAC is a “Common Access Card”. The current ID for mil.

Pennsylvania has the same setup with the inspection stickers on the windscreen...

My dad and I work for the same company, and we were with my boss in his Escalade; My dad was driving, and they only checked my dad's retiree ID; Maybe it's looser at that particular base? I do know you can't ride a motorcycle on a military base without a helmet, and seatbelts are required at all times even if the state in which the base is located doesn't require them...

When I had my STI, I tried to drive onto the Naval base in Norfolk. My registration was current, insurance was current, had a valid DL and CAC but my state inspection sticker was expired by a month. They made me turn around at the gate and depart the base due to it being expired and would not allow me to drive into base. I could walk on, but not drive.

A helmet for riding a motorcycle on base? Yeah...that’s not even close. As far as ai know, you need a motorcycle safety course completion entered into the system, a valid DL with endorsement for a motorcycle, full PPE and from my experience, a reflective vest to even be allowed access.

When my aunt and uncle were still living in Northern Virginia, my uncle and cousin went to Nationals baseball games all the time...

We went to a Nats game once, and my uncle parked his truck on an Army base not far from the stadium; For whatever reason, I did not have my military ID with me, and I was able to get on base to access the parking lot just by showing my driver's license...

Why would I drive with expired registration? I’m an adult, not some teenager or private. :notsure:

It happens more often than you think. Registration may be current but the person may not have out the sticker on the plate.

I am OCD about keeping my truck registered; PennDOT sends me a notice to renew with the option of either one year or two, I opt for the two year, send them a check, and then get my registration card in the mail; I believe I paid $138 in 2019 to register my Taco for two years...

Does Idaho still require the little stickers on the license plates? Pennsylvania did away with those a couple years ago...

Shit man, with how many people stationed in states they aren’t residents of with vehicles registered on a completely other state, it’s bound to happen.

I’m a WA resident with a 4Runner Registered in VA with a CA mailing address and a CA licensed motorcycle with a WA mailing address.

Tell me how that can’t be confusing
