Down with the Marines because there was open space. I didn't mind - it was cold and (relatively) quiet since they worked shifts. I was the first Air Force member they'd met, so for anyone else USAF those particular Marines interacted with in the future...sorry!

The showers sucked though. You had to hold that stupid button on the side of the nozzel for it to spray. Fuck that noise, I knew what those showers were like before my first boat ride so I went down to ace hardware and bought 10 small size C clamps that would fit over them so I could clamp that fucker down and hang it. I was taking 15 minute showers.....till a chief caught me and took my C clamp......joke was on him though cause I had 9 more. And guess what? I caught that same fucking chief using my old confiscated C clamp, he had it in his hand when he walked in and I just looked at him like "YOU MOTHER FUCKER!!!".

At 560 ft I don't think oars would have been much use

That sucks. Y'all didn't even have plastic? I always traveled with my plastic.

I loved that bar. I hit it on every trip home from '93 to 2008. Beamish for 2 euro? Keep 'em coming. I was sad to see it getting dismantled in 2010 to make way for a high-end fancy-schmancy food court. I tried to finagle some of the tap handles but all of the pieces and parts had been spoken for by the local national guard (so I was told).

It's all probably in some dude's house.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
We always flew our own planes... so it was mostly Moron or Mildenhall we stopped in. I can tell you every bar between Mildenhall and London though....

I spent three glorious days in the Bird in Hand. Drank and ate everything they had. It was November and raining the whole time, and while the rest of my team was cold and miserable attempting to sight-see (while we waited on country clearance) I was warm, drunk, and well fed.

I was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Witchita Falls, so I am used to young guys prancing around while the women grab your package.....

As a Marine on an Air Force Base, I can only say here, What an awesome TDY assignment. And I fell in love with Texas...

Got to remember, I am from Ohio. Which is a great place to be from.....
