    That's my brother's mantra. When I retired I went to work for a telecom, and on the first day I went to lunch with the rest of the team. He was at another location and not there, but when I announced that the cafeteria food "would make a poo" they all were like "it's like he's here!!"

    Ummm the cooks think that chunks of onions are how you flavor things? Hash browns that taste like cigarette butts. Also the only place I’ve ever seen brown spaghetti sauce. It’s like ground beef and then the grease is flavored with a little bit of tomato paste. Being married to an Italian woman, I’ve been spoiled.

    I will say, it’s gotten 100x better then when I came in though. When I had my HHC, one of my “platoons” was part of the DFAC. Each BN has one and they all come together to run the BDE DFAC. When they are given the budget and availability of ingredients they CAN cook really good. It’s the canned and frozen shit they are forced to use on a daily basis that sucks. A lot of them get highly offended having to serve it.
