Speaking of scare tactics. One night in Basic so idiots decided to start writing letters after lights out, even though DS left his hat on the desk in the barracks. Knowing full well he would come back, I tried to warn them but sure enough in comes DS R to get his hat and boy was he happy. Everybody up, smoked, then assigned homework to write 5 pages to someone, but it was never going to get mailed Better be done by the time he got back in the morning. I started writing this stupid thing then realized, there's no way he's going to read 30 5-page letters. I took a gamble and just wrote the same words over and over, I don't remember what they were. But after 5 minutes had my 5 pages ready and hit the rack. Next morning everyone turned in there shit and business as usual. Went to DS office for something later that day, I think I was on cleaning detail. Over in the corner were all the letters tossed in a pile next to the trash can.

 

Oh did I mention after we got assigned the paper, one of my platoon mates threw a fit and punched a locker and the DS on duty that night came in yelling "WHAT THE HELL PRIVATES, SOUND LIKE A GODDAMN IED WENT OFF IN HERE! TOE THE LINE" and we got smoked. So actually that morning our platoon DS smoked us again. Almost forgot about that. Blue Falcon mfr.

Despite Army regulations banning personnel from having facial hair, Hasan had begun growing a beard following the Fort Hood Shooting in 2009 by citing his religious beliefs.[175][176] Although no new photos of Hasan have been released since his incarceration, military authorities have confirmed that a video recording of the forced shaving exists, as per military regulations. In response, John Galligan, Hasan's former civilian lawyer, had planned to sue the military for violating his religious beliefs. Galligan argued that a military council in 2012 had allowed Hasan to keep his beard for the duration of the trial and dismissed the Army's actions as vindictive.[177]
