That was, naturally, the first thing that went through my warped mind

My recruiter was actually pretty decent. He didn't screw me at all. He actually may have helped me a bit. Initially, my high school best friend and I were seriously thinking of going in on the Buddy Program, to be MP's. Based on my ASVAB score (damnit, I wish I could remember what it was!), my recruiter did his best to convince me to select a more technical MOS. I ended up taking his advice, I selected 27E - T.O.W./Dragon anti armor missile systems repair. My Advanced training for electronics was 6 months long, and it actually got me very interested in electrical theory and such. So, 3 years later, since promotion to E5 and above was not happening very often, I decided to ETS and use my GI Bill to get a degree in Computer Engineering. Which I did, and ultimately it lead me into the I.T. field.

Ironically, after getting burned out/bored to death with I.T. about 20 years ago, I started thinking about what career fields I might be interested in. One of the top choices was...... law enforcement, specifically homicide investigator. Full circle, right??

I didn't make that jump at the time, because the starting salary for LEOs in my area at that time was around 35% - 45% less than what I was making at the time in I.T., and I kinda liked being able to pay my mortgage and other bills every month. A few years after that, I had my spinal cord injury, which made a LEO job a permanent un-possibility. So, I'm still stuck in the suck that is I.T.. Can I blame my recruiter for that?? :D

They are. Nothing like kicking one from on top of your truck while people are shooting at you.

Use a feed chute and a can so the links don’t twist.

    You’ll be fine.
