    That was me. Did a 5spd swap in my '57 in the "quad" of our condemned barracks. Had the power for my welder run from the laundry room through the vent.
    CSM came by doing an inspection and walked out there while I was under it. He made sure I was using jack stands along with my jack and told me not to leave my tools out overnight.

    At NTC, we had a "shop" with maybe 4 -5 bays that you could rent by the hour, tools were also available, but an extra charge. It had lifts, too. Pretty nice set up, actually. One of my buddies was always renting a bay to work on his 196<something> Camaro. He always had the engine torn apart, tweaking shit everywhere.

    The one at Fort Bragg wasn't that bad, my only issue was never having time to get over there. Being single and in the barracks, I didn't get much free time. As long as we did it safely and kept stuff clean, our CoC didn't have an issue with us doing work in the quad. After all, it was bad enough there that they tore down the wrong condemned building. At one point we had a total of 4 soldiers per floor, with 4 rooms per floor off limits because there was a crack running through the entire building.
