I'd like to think my beloved Corps has not fallen that low.

 

Perhaps he confiscated the recruit's diaper pin, safety blankey and told them "no safe space for you, one year!"

Yeah, I saw that article last week. My first thought was "Women on submarines...... next up: Navy to investigate high number of cases of sexual assault / pregnancies over the last 9 month". So they are allowing women to serve on submarines now.

There goes the age old joke: "What is long and hard, and full of seamen".......

 

They started integrating females onto boats a couple years ago. I think they brought on three female midshipmen to one of the Trident boats. Within a week a clever sailor got busted for rigging up a camera in the women's shower. Yeah, this is going to go great.

 

But they referred to the Sub as "She" in the video. Did anyone ask what the Sub's preferred pronouns were first?

 

Theres stories of women making bank while deployed...one gal we heard about got called in front of deployed Base commander. And told him he couldnt take her stripes (Senior Airman E4- 3 stripes in Air Force). He made her cut them off her uniform right there and sent her home next available flight.

 

Female accoms. NBD. Usually means more staterooms and privacy for everyone, anyway, which is good for morale.

That said, getting preggers while underway should be UCMJ for all parties concerned.

I'm obviously not a fan of the problems that the integration has the potential of causing in the interest of a forced social experiment.

 

Eh surface ships has had integrated facilities for decades now. Time for the sub mariners to join the trend. And like I said, more private staterooms and smaller berthings is good for everyone. Not to mention being locked out of certain career fields and billets hurts folks. I don't have a problem with anyone who wants to do stupid long 6+ months without sunlight deployments volunteering to do so, and this adds to the number of folks available who can do that. Just like I said, gotta strictly enforce via UCMJ any hanky panky, since that could affect a deployment and that's a strict no no.
