The nose art they're applying nowadays is done this way, all on computer and pre-printed. It takes some of the romance out of it from the days when the crews did their own painting, but B-1s, B-52s and KC-135s go a little faster than those old WWII aircraft.

So i guess im just not understanding. I can see the image through the fiberglass stuff, the perforated is on the back and is sticky. You put that to metal? But how does the fiberglass stuff come off?

I was in the Army 1985-88. The only MREs I ever saw were: 1) Dehydrated Pork Patty; 2) Dehydrated Beef Patty; 3) Pork & Beans; 4) Spaghetti & Meatballs.

Just measured it, 24"x24" Looks like that fiberglass stuff will peel off I didnt want to peel the whole thing. Has a couple small tears but not bad for being folded up so many years.

Are you sure you’re not confusing MREs with those fancy “Heater-meals” the AF gives out at the hanger when the Army and Marines are waiting to deploy?

No not heater bombs. It’s an actual meal they started giving out during manifests on AF bases. I can’t believe they locked the base down. That was a prank in the field.

Btw you can use the heaters to make a quasi thermite... in case you needed to know :D
