It's not "wrong" to use it at the strip club if you don't give the money to the strippers. Back in '94 we were doing a BLUE FLAG exercise at Hurlburt Field, and billeting put us all up at a place called the Leeside Inn on Okaloosa Island. At the time, there were two ATMs on the island: at a place called Cash's and another at Sammy's strip club. We have been briefed that Cash's was 100% off limits because it was a "minors club," meaning that you couldn't get a beer and she could literally be 14 and legally in there. Off limits. Verboten. That left us Sammy's. What were we to do?

Day one - we pull up in Sammy's parking lot rocking a blue USAF-marked 15-pax Dodge van, and 11 of us (night shift) roll out at 5:30 PM and head inside to where the ATM was. All the lights are on, place is quiet, everyone's dressed. Mind you, we're all in BDUs with our names on our shirts. Anyhoo, lights go down, DJ wakes up, clothes start coming off. When the last of us gets their cash and receipt, we all blow the girls kisses and head out the door. We roll in for shift start at 5:50 with our Popeyes and sodas and ready to rock the night.

8 PM, the Ops Group CC walks up and lists all of us who made the Sammy's trip by name, and orders us to follow him to a side office. He calmly asks us why we visited the aforementioned establishment. We explained that it was the only ATM we could use on the island, and saw the light of realization hit him. Apparently, Sammy's owner was "greatly displeased" that we used his ATM but didn't spend our money there, and complained to the base commander of Eglin...who then gave hell to his base...only to find out it was us. Hurlburt CC sent the Ops CC to round us up and throw us in the pokey. Fortunately, as an MC-130H guy used to getting stuck in weird locales, he instead authorized CPBO (before they changed their name to MPF) to give us cash advances and asked us to please never go to Sammy's in uniform again.

By the time we got back to home station we'd achieved rock star status because we'd fought the law and won.

Word was that the base convinced the community to put in a lot more ATMs on the island (since that was where the hotels all were). So, everyone on Okaloosa Island who got safe and secure access to ATM machines not in teeny-bopper or strip clubs...you're welcome.

Sadly, I think those places all got wiped out by hurricanes in 1995/1996. That was a great place to visit.

 

Had one dumbass buy a house full of furniture with it from a rent to own place. Was pulling it off until he missed a payment and they charged the card for the payment and the ridiculous fee. He came to explaining what he’d done and how he tried to fix it by making the payment in cash - not knowing they had already dipped into the card on file - to hopefully get the missed payment sorted. I gave him the, “you’re a fucking retard” speech and then the “I’m sure unite certain you’re gonna get jammed up on this” speech right before top opened my door and demanded to see the moron in question.

He was a good kid that made a terrible decision and got chaptered out. I never saw him again after he left my office but from what I hear they wrecked him.

 

lol correct... but there is an IF in there. Also when there are multiple ATMs available (Ft Leonard Wood) that are not in the strip club, doesn’t really give you room to argue. BN or CO commander isn’t the police and doesn’t require the same level of “evidence” a police agency might.

 

had couple of those, Then theres some that would use it then pay it off real quick but the Air Force caught on real quick and started booting people. Some did it on purpose to GET caught and get out of the Air Force early....
