I've got a really nasty squealing sound under the hood. Hit some really bad mud on the last rig lease, heavy sticky, snotty clay about a foot deep that got a cat stuck 2 days before. Also hit some really deep puddles on the way. I'm thinking it could be the alternator or the clutch on the AC, anyone else done some heavy mudding and heard anything? Haven't been to town to wash under the hood yet, hoping that might help....

Any time I have had that happen, it turned out to be my Alternator. Clean it up really good, but there is a chance your Alt. is shot.

Turned out it was the idler pullies, alternator was fine. Dealer replaced both pullies and the water pump which kind of surprises me. Anyone else had the water pump replaced? My Taco had about 40,000 kms or about 25,000 miles at the time.
