I recently installed a halos on my truck and tapped into the EFI fuse which I though switched off with the engine but the halos randomly will turn on for a minute and then turn off. I think the EFI fuse is the fuel pump relay or something. Anyone know why the halos would randomly turn on when the keys aren't even in the ignition? This was the only fuse I could find that switched off with the ignition.

the evap system is on that fuse and it runs a self test every once in awhile so the lights will come on when the test runs

Thanks, is there a fuse that turns off and on with the ignition under the hood or is this as good as it gets? I guess the halos use so little electricity that's it's not really that big a deal if they pop on every once in a while?

Did this ever cause you issues outside of it turning on for a minute? Just installed an aftermarket grill with lights and I tapped into the EFI fuse. Noticed lights turn on randomly and didn’t know if there’s a better solution for wiring

When I add something that needs power in any of my vehicles, I always avoid tapping into a circuit that I'll call "mission critical." My reasoning is that I don't want to cripple my vehicle when something "optional" blows the fuse for the "mission critical" circuit. I'd say a fuse for EFI meets that criteria.

Hello, I just did the same with EFI fuse, did you continue to use that fuse for your lights and did it cause any issues? Thanks

Why not install a separate fuse panel?

Where in your bay is this wire located and how is it activated? Lights? Fogs? Or?

I'm also interested in another fuse option to use for the LED's in the grill. I might just hook it up to the Auxbeam controller and manually turn them on.

More like feeble mind than feeble fingers. I recently ordered a cali raised rack with all the lights and have been reviewing videos on install and wiring. I installed raptor lights on my grill almost a year ago and a tapped a fuse onto the EFI circuit because I wanted them to stay on whether the lights were on or not and on at all times with the headlights and brights. Everything was good till in my present research, I discovered that I might have the tap in the opposite direction as it should be. I followed some videos here on that subject and ended up cutting a 10 amp fuse in half to determine the hot side of the circuit. Found it and yes I had the tap facing the wrong direction. Unfortunately when I now try to start the truck its as if its not getting any gas. A check of fuses notes them good. Yep I read about tapping into such circuits and now my stomach is in knots. Can anybody help in this matter. Wondering if I'm going to have to replace the fuse box.

I installed raptor lights on my grill almost a year ago and a tapped a fuse onto the EFI circuit because I wanted them to stay on whether the lights were on or not and on with both the headlights and brights. Everything was good till in my present research I discovered that I might have the tap in the opposite direction as it should be. I followed some videos here on that subject and and I did have it in incorrectly. I did this by splitting a 10 amp fuse (the one specified for the circuit) as I found here in the forums. However upon reinserting the tap in the correct direction the truck will not start now. Needless to say my stomach is in my throat. Help! Wondering if I'm going to have to replace the whole circuit board.
