You understand adaption and slowing down in the heat, but when it's 98° at 5am for the 100th time in a year, you'll understand. But I do prefer the dry heat to the humidity now.

It took me about 3 years to move up here and lucky enough to get a position with my company up here. But the drive Isnt that bad after you know it. Goes pretty fast. And there is a nice half way point we tend to meet at for the weekends camping and fishing party times. We have a nice group of campers that tend to be out every weekend every other weekend camping. Its our passion to explore and get our woods relaxation

Dont feel like thats what you're doing. I need as realistic of a picture as i possibly can. It's easy for me to be over here in SC and say, im gonna get x, y, and z in this location as soon as i get there when there are folks with real experience to tell me otherwise that it's super unlikely. I just need to adjust my fire is all. Need to find something outdoorsy that pays well/ok. I dont want to be in an office if i can fucking help it i swear.

Honestly if I can snag a non-desk-job type of job right now, I dont really care what it is, i just need to get established first, then i can afford to be picky once ive got a roof over my head and stuff ya know?

    What retailer is it?

Yeah I work for them. Its ok. I like being able to talk to people and walk around and not be chained to my desk for 9 hours. I can give you ajob up here If you would like. But its 3 hours from your NG spot in phx. We have the NG armory up here.

There is something to be said for this! My brother got his BS from ASU 5 years or so ago and couldn't get a job anywhere. He finally got a gig working for the forest service in Happy Jack. He's fought fires all over the country and now calls Dolores, CO home. Not sure if that works with your military requirements though.

I went to the NARTA academy (for LE) here in Prescott Valley and there were 4 Game and Fish officers. They love it.

I grew up in Glendale and lived there until I graduated high school in 1995. I moved up to the Prescott area for college and I've been here ever since. I love it up here but I'm a lot older than you. I like being closer to the woods/outdoors and farther away from millions of people.

The Valley has plenty of upsides though. There's simply more everything down there. Social scenes, jobs, recreation, housing, women (you're 22) lol.

The heat is...well it's heat. I don't care much for it but it's not hard to get used to. Like others have said it's what everyone refers to as a "dry heat" so it's not completely unbearable and sticky. Everyone has a pool, there's half a dozen awesome lakes within an hour or less drive, depending on where you live. The winters are PARADISE!

Honestly I think you'll do just fine living anywhere in the valley. There's obviously some rough parts of all the cities that you'll want to avoid but the same holds true for every major city in America.

Back to the job thing. You can make 25K working at taco bell out here. If 25K is sufficient to get you by for now I would suggest getting something temporary that doesn't tie you down right away. That way you can give it a year or so to explore the state and different cities and everything they have to offer. Then if you find that perfect fit for you, you won't be tied down by your job.

    Good luck and congrats!
