Hey guys this is my first truck/tacoma and i'm super excited! So a little about the truck it has a 2.5" lift (so he said and i'm not sure on what kind), TRD CAI, some sort of skid plate on the front, Method wheels, and I just bought some nitto terra grappler g2 tires in 285/70R17. I plan to use this truck on the road a lot but also going out in some mud, dirt, gravel, and some slight rocks. I live in Flagstaff, AZ so there is also snow and ice to be careful with. I plan on getting a tonneau cover very soon and some window deflectors soon after that. Once the headlights/fogs go out I want to put in some HIDs and do the fog light mod. The shocks will go to kings once those die out as well and I will be looking into some sort of rock guards or something to protect the truck and act as a step. So my questions are what else can I EVENTUALLY (keyword for all my plans) do to make it more off road ready and look even more gorgeous than she already is and are there any tips/tricks anyone is willing to give. Glad to be part of such a great community. TPDTaco.jpg

Do a projector retrofit..... Don't just drop HIDs in there.

Hard to tell but here are all the updated things. All of the leds in total was around $50 not too bad for 7 lights and covered for 2 years, might not be the best but better than stock and not a bad price. I have to go find a place that sells the light for the HVAC knob on the far right, that little chingadera is going to be hard to find in a store and for a reasonable price.

Ok so payday is around the corner and I'm going to be selling my old subs so i was thinking of doing just a quick and cheap exhaust upgrade throw out some ideas on looking in the $350 range and want it to sound decent and throaty but not much droan on the freeway. i was thinking of the magnaflow 17115. i have the cold air intake so it sounds good then you open her up but i want a little more noise on the idle and lower revs and make that cai sound even better than it does. im also not sure if i should do these bolt on cat backs or just have a new muffler installed because that will be cheaper (i think). Ill try and get a video up in the next few days of what TPD sounds like at the moment i think the key note is around 4k or so.

That entire intake is a flawed design by K&N so I wouldn't trust any aspect of it to be honest.

As for an exhaust, I don't see any reason to get a catback unless ur going larger pipe and force fed.... Just get a Muffler and save ur money

The gauge on my TRD CIA has never worked. I clean the filter every 5k or after off wheeling.

is it a pain to re oil? and for the muffler it is cheaper to purchase but install would be expensive because of the welding wouldn't it? the cat back is just bolt in i could just do it myself

Ok here is that video sounds a little too stock for me just need a little more to it, I also go over some things I have noticed with the truck. Can only be viewed with the link. Sorry for my excessive rambling I get it from my mom haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3F_GfnfDqe8&feature=youtu.be

Ok so took her off roading the other day to go shooting and mess around nothing super super serious never had to use 4wd and its going to take forever to get the mud out of everywhere. The mud in Flagstaff is horrible, it's a nightmare but so fun to play in :mudding::annoyed:. I cleaned the CAI and re-oiled it and put in a pop and lock color matched tailgate lock that is coded to my ignition key. Still need to order the backup camera mount because the stock one doesn't fit. But i noticed on the street i get that vsc beep all the time when turning and it isn't even breaking traction (although that happens more than i like on some turns). Is there an easy way to turn that sensitivity down or anything? Also on the wind deflectors is there any brand that is better? Im looking for something that isn't too expensive but isn't complete poop. I have read that the EGR is decent but the weathertechs might be nicer? I also noticed the rear wheels seem to have drum brakes, is that true? If so is it possible to upgrade them to disk brakes? Any drawbacks?
