Greetings every one. I've only lived in Oregon 6years now.The weather is a factor now I believe!
I've owned and operated on my 99 Tacoma 2.7L 4X4 5 speed manual SR5 Toyota for quite awhile. The door latches broke on both sides. Replaced them, after 2years the shotgun side won't open now.Acts like a slipped off linkage.FRIKING plastic is to blame, not logical material..
The timing chain plastic carrier glove is fragile now, just from being subjected to heat..If I could
melt the ball and chain from my truck (the fucking computer) all my problems would be solved in an hour.Made some things in my life, things that make life much more livable in a world of cartels
GOT in more trouble than I could understand, doing it . Figuring out the truck is easy.. end transmission.... futurefuel ( resonantman )

Well, I'm not sure how removing the ECU would fix broken door handles and a brittle timing cover.

But I'll take your word for it.

OTOH the '99 has a pretty rudimentary ECU and limited integration with other systems. Recommend that you avoid buying anything newer. Of any brand.
